Hi everyone! Coming over from the 12-24 weeks thread, I am 24+5 today! Could someone add me to the list as I am on my phone amd don't have a clue! Due on the 25th July, thankyou!

Claree I wouldn't worry its always much easier with your own, you know what they want and can set the boundaries you decide! My nephew is 8 and I think he is harder work than my two put together and my youngest is always trying to do something he shouldn't and he knows it!

Morning ladies - have had enough of this enormous bump now - I am going to topple over soon :D

Highland Lass - I think the average length for a newborn baby is around 50-52cm, mine have all managed 60-62cm and I am just 5ft 3 inches. So if you are really tall  Saying that, my mum was 6ft 2 at her tallest and me and my sister were 6 and 7 lbers of average length, so not sure how that worked! DH 's family are all on the shorter side, so not quite sure why I have had the pleasure of getting such long and heavy babies!! My eldest DS is 14 and just reached 6ft 4 inches and my 4 year old daughter is the size of a 7 year old (they measured her in school) - so guess my long babies have turned into long children :rotfl: Wish they could spare me and inch or two :o

helen - No I have never used a Tens machine either, just gas and air. Not that I would ever have time to put one on in labor anyway...:rotfl:

My kids have only been out a couple of times this Easter due to struggling to walk and can't drive at all now :( DH works shifts so he has been doing the park and visiting family with them. I did manage a day at the beach on Sunday - but I was sat in the car for most of it as the benches were killing my pelvis and hips. My mum, DH and eldest DS entertained the little ones.

Hope you're feeling better soon. And yes I can't believe how fast this 6 months has gone!!!!

Claree - Good luck with the scan.

pigpen - I know what you mean by the dates - I have been put forward by up to 3 weeks at my dating scan with all of mine. Even though I know when I ovulated and conceived. I was put 15 days forward with this one, so guess its just a waiting game for me this time :)

Have a nice day ladies and I am off on a hot date with a very large pile of ironing.....

    Hallo ladies and welcome Sam1984

    Hope we're all well today.
I saw mw again yesterday and she was pleased with baby and me - says baby has given me a very neat bump (?); I've been having dizzy spells each morning about 10/11 lasting about an hours or so and she reckons it is because I'm not eating a large enough breakfast... I'm not so sure as when I check my BP during these "episodes" it is always really low. At least my BP isn't high and I can still wear my wedding rings.
Baby has started engaging too; which is a move in the right direction - I'm ready for baby to come NOW... I know baby will come when baby is ready! Sorry, that's all a little moany but its a gloomy grey day at mine again today.

I'm going to go and bounce on my ball - see if I can encourage baby out!

    take care,
    Saf xx

    Hi All

Had my GTT today, got to phone up after 3pm for results, anyone else had GTT recently?

Silly as it sounds I am kinda nervous about the results!

28 weeks today and all going well apart from itching now, just starting - is it something to go and see the Dr about?
New first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!

Hi, I've got my GTT tomorrow! Not looking forward to it at all (mostly because I eat every couple of hours at the moment so I'm not sure how I'll cope with not eating for so long!). Hope your results are absolutely fine, I'm quite nervous about mine too.

I think itching is quite normal, as far as I know, but if you have itchy palms of your hands or soles of your feet, definitely get checked out as you might wanted to be tested for cholestasis. In general, my theory is - if in doubt, go to the doc or mention to your midwife at next appointment. Definitely best to be safe rather than sorry, and they might even be able to prescribe some dermo creams or something to make it more bearable.

Nikkiann is the itching on your belly only as if it is it sounds like the start of stretch marks im afraid,
If its everywhere else, you need mention it to ur midwife as it could be something else

I've had a stomachache all day today and on off braxton hicks, thank god my headache has gone though.

Just let the kids play moon sand and oh my god wat a mess they made , just took me 30 mins to tidy it all up , had todo it before my husband gets home , can't be asked with him moaning, only ever comes out when he is at work!!

Saffagal , may be u just need to slow down abit, I've had a few but i think it's when I move to fast lol

    Welcome Sam 1984.

With the nappies I would say buy size 2 , if u look at the weight on them it's really not much different, I think I've got 3 packs of size 1.
And yes there first poo and maybe there second is like back tar and it's horrible , it sticks to them and when ur in hospital you have to use water and cotton wools which makes it harder aswell, I love getting home and using baby wipes

    Claree how was the scan?

Thanks Helen, that's really useful. Asda are doing Pampers size 2 jumbo (box of 80) for 2 for £20, so it's about 12p a nappy which seems to be the cheapest I can find at the moment.

About cotton wool and water... do you use cotton balls or cotton pads? Stupid question I know, but is one better/easier than the other?

All these minor details are starting to bother me!! Silly really as they are so unimportant, I think I'm just getting keen to be organised now.

Hope all went well at the scan, Clare.

Highland Lass, I'm almost 6 foot and my DS was 55cm, I think. He was towards the upper end of the scale in his red book. I don't think it's guaranteed that you'll have a massive baby just because you're tall - chonorla seems to be good evidence of that! So I'm hopeful that number 2 for me will be a nice average size and just pop out with no fuss ;) (Hey, a girl can dream... :p)

I had the GTT test a couple of weeks ago and was dreading not being able to eat for so long - even longer than recommended, as it turned out, as we were travelling back from visiting my folks the evening before so I hadn't eaten since about 5pm that evening. It wasn't too bad though, I didn't feel sick while I was there. I did take a sandwich with me though and ate that in the car before I drove home. I had to wait ages for my results, so it's good that you'll get them the same day NickiAnn. They'd have contacted me if there'd been any concern, but mine all came back normal so I only found out when I saw the consultant a couple of weeks later.

I hired a Tens machine when I had DS, but to be honest I don't think it made a lot of difference to the pain. Maybe I didn't have the pads positioned correctly. It worked more as a distraction as hitting the button when a contraction came gave me something else to think about. I don't think I'll bother this time.

My right hip has been really sore lately. I guess this is a sign of things starting to loosen up.
You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.

    Question about the GTT

Did you have to purchase the drink yourself? & do they have different flavours? (if it's just orange i reckon i will chuck it up straight away)
