    Jaundice. Phototherapy. Indefinite stay.

Also drummed up small mutiny about the no curtains around your beds on the post natal ward rule instigated by a silly manager recently!

Boo - fingers crossed you're not in for too long :(
Had horrible cramps last night & didn't feel tiny human move for ages so I was all worried. Seems to be in full action this morning though, maybe just sleepy last night :rotfl:

Can you pay for a single occupancy room? It's worth it. Hopefully the jaundice will clear up soon. Make sure you feed her til she bursts - it really helps with the jaundice. You won't be there for ever.

Sorry to hear you're still stuck in the hospital, Dizzi. Fingers crossed you can escape soon.

Just had my first appointment of the day - 28 week appointment with the Midwife. Everything looking OK and bump measuring spot on for dates. I think the baby took exception to her cold hands though as he gave her a good kick when she was prodding him :D

I had horrible cramps last night too Clare. Though in my case it turned out to be wind :o So it was good news that it was nothing to worry about, but not so pleasant when it finally escaped! Oh, the joys of pregnancy...

Hahaa maybe that's what it was :rotfl:
Tiny human is going for it today, feeling like little kicks now instead of just swishing.

They found me the single isolation room last night when I put my foot down about the phototherapy lights not being fair on the other women on the bay - although the fact I was stirring up mutiny against the compulsory pulling everyone's bed curtains back to force us all to bond policy (we were bonding - to get our curtains back) might have been a factor.

Poor woman in the next bed had no pain relief for hours cos they lost her drug card and had her mum on the phone playing utter hell too-think they wanted to split the troublemakers up!

Glad your growth scan went well helen! :) I've just had to dash away from work on my luch break to go to my GP and get blood taken because my neice has the Slapped Cheek virus. Should be nothing to worry about, but I think they like to check as a precaution. I hate having blood taken! And they have to repeat the bloods in a month! Boo :( While I was there I booked in for my whooping cough jab and arranged a 'fit to fly' letter for our holiday so at least I killed two birds with one stone!

Glad your scan went well helen :j I couldn't get to my Consultant appointment due to being severely snowed in - we have now just reached 10 inches apparently and it is still falling fast

Consultant and MW phoned me because obviously it is not good that they have not been able to check size of baby and make a decision re induction. They have assured me they will both see me - whatever it takes next week! Even if it is a home visit. I am a little worried now, 37 weeks tomorrow - I was induced at 38 weeks with my last little man (lol) and he was 9lb 8oz.

I hope this snow stops soon, I am petrified about going into labor at home, because I know I wouldn't make the hospital in normal circumstances. (I do them fast and hospital is 14 miles away.) But at the moment an ambulance couldn't get to me either!! Fingers crossed I am worrying unnecessarily and all will be fine.

Ironically I was in hospital for the day yesterday having babys movements monitored again as he was barely moving again, so at least we have been checked recently!! Its just due to his size and being a bit squashed that he is struggling to move much. And on the plus side he has turned !!!! Yippee!!!

    Hope everyone is well xxxxxxxxxxx

The advice to get a new mattress is because of the little amounts of milk they spit up in the night, can't remember the name of it... it gets into the mattress and causes mould which is safe for your baby (as it's their own germs) but no another baby, even a sibling.
But it looks like it's okay if you have had a cover on it and get it cleaned...

    This is from FSID:
What kind of mattress should I use?
It is very important that your baby’s mattress is kept clean and dry. Ideally you should buy a new mattress for each new baby. If you are not able to do this, use the one you have, as long as it was made with a completely waterproof cover and has no tears, cracks or holes. Clean and dry it thoroughly. Check that the mattress is in good condition; is flat and firm, not soft; fits the cot without any gaps; and doesn’t sag. Never sleep your baby on a pillow, cushion, bean bag or waterbed.
