Spoke with the midwife and she said not to worry as the show can often be green, yellow, brown or red!
I also looked on Google images and there are a number of different colours there-so to speak!!!!
Still no other signs apart from Braxton hicks but due date is next Thursday-i feel I'm going to be overdue!
Hope everyone is well.
Thanks for updating - it's good to know that it's nothing to worry about!Morning all. Getting definate movement now which is lovely - very strange but lovely.
Very tired & not wanting to be in work but I'm hoping that'll fade!
I'm always tired! I just find it hard to get going, but once I'm in work I'm usually ok until about 3pm and then I start to get tired again :rotfl:I think it's just because I don't sleep great these days... Nice that you are getting movement! I am desperate for OH to feel the baby move - he keeps missing it though! He only ever does one or two big kicks in a row and by the time I grab OH's hand he's stopped!Sparkles87 wrote: »Morning everyone, I'm feeling blah again today, so taking it easy before work later. Midwife put me at possibly a week earlier and I think she's right re-checking dates, as I was already sick by the date it would put me at. Bit worrying considering OH is away, she better stay in until the 19th June!
Sorry you are feeling rubbish! Take it easy!0 -
I agree that I wouldn't skip the scan - maybe it's just 'cause I'm dying to see tiny human again!
Having a bit of a dilemma in work; the guy who sits behind me - he's a nice guy, I don't agree with a lot of his views on politics etc but he's okay. He was having an argument on the phone with a customer and my boss thought he heard him say "paki" and asked if I had too 'cause I'm closer. Honestly, I wasn't listening and have no idea if he said it or not but the guy's been in a bit of trouble recently and this could be the last straw so I said I don't think he said it.
Knowing this guy, he may well have said it but I doubt he'd say it on the phone to a customer. Did I do the right thing? My Debt Free Diary

Feeling the tiredness here too. I think it's partly due to me reaching the point now where I find it hard to get comfortable in bed so am not sleeping as well as usual. And my back and hips ache most of the time. Definitely hitting the point of being fed up of being pregnant now
28 weeks today, so not toooo much longer to go.
Quick question for those who already have children and are reusing cots - is it really necessary to get a new mattress? I know they recommend it, but the one we have on the cot DS is in now was a decent one, has a washable waterproof cover and, to be honest, hasn't had to deal with much sick etc in the 2 1/2 years it's been used for. It looks like new still. Obviously I'll get a new one for the new baby if it's needed, I'm just not convinced that it is. Why exactly is it recommended to get a new one?
I found my list I made of stuff we needed when I was expecting DS, so have gone through to see what we need to get this time, and that list is very shortAnd we got a £160 refund from EDF this morning as our account is in credit, so I feel a little shopping spree coming on
With regard to cats, ours generally stayed well away from DS. Though we did have one incident where we'd left the car seat in the living room overnight and when we got up the next day the cat had pooed in it  Lucky the covers were washable and we weren't going anywhere that day. But we made sure he couldn't get in/on DS's things after that. We'd stopped allowing the cats upstairs before DS arrived, so no worries about them getting in the cot (though the reason for not allowing them upstairs was mainly due to the fact that the old boy had a tendency to sit at the top of the stairs and wail in the middle of the night, which would have been right outside DS's nursery. It was for the cat's own safety as I'd have throttled him if he'd woken a sleeping baby up!)
Sorry I can't help with your decision re the scan Courgette. Personally I'd always have it as I'd rather know if there was a chance something might be wrong, even if it turned out to be a false alarm.
Clare, if you didn't for sure hear him say it, then I think you've done the right thing. It sounds like there are plenty of other issues with him, so of your boss is looking for a reason to get rid, I'm sure it won't be long before he has enough to support that decision. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you didn't hear him Clare, then I think you did the right thing. Although if he does say something like that in the future then I would say something to your boss right away. That sort of thing shouldn't be tolerated! Surely he wouldn't be so rude/daft as to say it to a customer though??
No idea about using a matress again BigBird, sorry...
I have a quick stretchmarks question. I know everyone is different, but I'm constantly on stretchmark watch and was just wondering if/when they started appearing for others? I don't have any yet, but I'm only just under 25 weeks...0 -
Of course if he did say it he deserves everything coming to him but I wouldn't like to say that I heard it just on the basis that I've heard him say it before (not to a customer but still). Only 96 working days (minus any holidays I take) 'till I can get out of hereMy Debt Free Diary

re mattressess.. I'd use my common sense.. I do have a little
.
If it is hollowed anywhere, get rid
If it has any trace of mould or staining, get rid
If it has been stored in an attic or shed or garage, get rid.
Mine has a plastic waterproof side which we use on top because E was so sicky, she also had a folded bathtowel and her sheet so nothing ever got through. I will reuse that one for her.
F's mattress has a removable washable cover and has a waterproof lining so her would be fine to reuse.
You can buy replacement zip on covers for most brands if you ring the manufacturers.
Mine are kiddicare sprung mattresses.

Cheers PP. Ours is a sprung one too and common sense tells me it's fine - no hollows, no marks of any kind (still looks like new) and it's only ever been kept in the house (in DS's room in fact). I'll give it a good clean anyway when we move DS into the single bed, but I reckon it'll be fine for this baby.
We also now have SIL on standby to look after DS if this baby decides to take his time in arriving and the in-laws have gone on holiday, so that's one less thing to worry about.
And I've ordered the crib mattress today. Wow, I'm actually starting to get organisedYou can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Congratulations to Dizzi!
I'm 37 weeks today, full term - scary to think baby could come at any time now. Had midwife appointment on Tuesday and baby isn't engaged yet, so I think I've got a bit of time left (it's my first). I should probably print out my birth plan though to save taking the laptop to the hospital, and finish packing the hospital bag.
Enjoy your shopping spree BigBird! And Clare - I'd have done the same and given the benefit of the doubt if I hadn't heard what he'd said. Sounds like he'll be caught out eventually if he's saying stupid things to customers (and they might complain anyway).0 -
Waiting on jaundice bloods to see if we can wangle a discharge tonight or not as my hatred of post natal wards continues. While she's not hitting the exact feed totals they want, I shamelessly asked the doctor who I know is much more flexible than the ward staff and he said if her billi levels are low enough he's fine for us to go today so fingers crossed for the next couple of hours.
Midwife I terrified also popped up to say hello and is still somewhat bemused how I totally caught them out- I gather the doc has had some friendly ribbing too!
We bought a new mattress, old one went to be a new dog bed as it was the perfect size.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
