Hello everyone, finally gave birth at 40+13 by emergency c section after failed induction, its been a tough few days now but we are home and in love with our little girl.

I must have been lucky as we didn't have a bounty woman on our ward, never had any bounty packs either during pregnancy.

Sadly baby is showing no signs of turning at all He is still switching between breech and transverse. As they said at the hospital, my chances are getting smaller buy the day of him moving back because of his size. So am just not worrying about it at the moment, as there is little I can do. As long as he is happy in there, I will deal with whatever way he decides to make his appearance when the time comes But yes, he has been head down all the way through, then just decided he had had enough and flipped over! I was 99% likely to be induced due to size and speed of labors anyway, so am sure they will do what is best for us both.

Mrsashworth B - Fingers crossed for you!!!!

gizmodo - I had lovely pictures from the bounty lady for both of my DS's -I was in and out within 6 hours with my daughter so never saw them. But they were nice photos and I am glad I had them done - I had forgot my camera with my littlest so at least we had one photo of a very fresh baby They posted them to me because I was only in 12 hours and they wouldn't have been developed in time.

Getting dreadful cramp at night in my legs - and am certainly not dehydrated as I drink gallons at the moment! Also still unable to take iron tablets as they make me violently sick. MW didn't seem that bothered - even though she kept going on about how anaemic I was?????????????? I will carry on with my multi-vitamin and spinach overdose in the mean time :rotfl:

Hope everyone is feeling well and looking forward to their little arrivals now

It is caused by the growing baby making your ribs splay out to accomodate baby and internal organs.. you are stuck with it until you are popped.

Bounty pics are taken in hospital and always posted out. They take about 4 weeks to come through. Though uf you don't buy them they allow you to pirchase the pics to a photobox account and you get the rights to them for free you can then print off as many as you like.

It's just one of those things as far as I know. I had a really bad cough about a month ago and managed to strain the muscles between my ribs. I went to the GP and got some painkillers and he told me to use a hot water bottle to ease the pain. Then I saw the consultant at the hospital a couple of weeks later and she said to use an icepack, so I'm not sure which is better, heat or cold.

The muscular pain has gone, but my ribs still ache. I've found an extra pillow under my ribs helps me get more comfortable in bed. A gentle back rub (if you're not too sore) is also nice.

Dizzi, how are you doing?

DH and I had a last weekend away, just the two of us. It was lovely really - we'll never be just the two of us again once baby arrives so decided to have one last treat. Saw the MW again this morning and she says baby is in an ideal position though not yet engaged (34weeks now). I see the Consultant again on Wednesday and have a scan too to check baby's growth. MW measured 35cm so will be interesting to see what the measurements are from the scan. Touch wood, thus far my BP has been pretty well controlled so keeping everything crossed that it stays that way. I've only four days left at work, and am ready to finish now - I'm really struggling with the demands of my commute and the concentration required during the day. My mw asked if I have anything nice planned once I go off, then told me I must be sure and have a daily afternoon nap, after lunch, as it will help my body prepare for birth and for once baby is here - anyone else been told this?

On another note, my sister is not doing well. She's no longer responding to the transfusions and the specialists don't seem to think there is anything else they can do. A donor match was found a week ago, but she's been in hospital the last 4 weeks and is nowhere near strong enough to survive a transplant at present. It's really hard being this far away, knowing I can't fly (Dr won't sign me off to) so can't be there or see her.

I've gone on a bit, sorry ladies, hope that you're all doing well and labour vibes to our boldies.

Congrats Queen B! Does she have a name yet?

Saf, sorry to hear about your sister, must be a hard time for you, the excitement of a baby vs the hard struggles your sister has had, just hope she surprises you by pulling through for a little longer.

Only 2 weeks left in work for me now, love the idea of an afternoon nap everyday, haven't done that since my student days 10 yrs ago!
We now have cot, crib, car seat, pram so feel we're all sorted now. Still haven't got round to doing my hospital bag, have most of the bits and bobs, just not in the same place!

Everyone is convinced I'm having a boy now, all at the front, but I'm just not sure, all the old wives tales seem to give conflicting results, so we're defo on for wait and see.
