Hello ladies - hope everyone is well :D

Just spent the night in hospital due to reduced movements - because the little b**ger has turned breech and back-to-back  He has been spinning for a couple of weeks and I have manged to get him back into position with kneeling down with my bum in the air etc 5 times a day - much to the amusement of the rest of my family! But he now appears to be stuck in this position and has been for a while. Because he is likely to be a big'un again they have said they will not be trying to move him and all I can do is keep trying and hope for the best. For the same reason I will not be allowed to attempt a breech birth either - so unless he manages to get back round I will be having a c-section :( Which will be a complete nightmare with 3 other children and DH not taking any time off work. Am 35 weeks tomorrow so am now on a mission to spin this baby again :rotfl:

Baby brain has well and truly set in (though not sure it ever went after my eldest DS 14 years ago :o) and keep making a right wally of myself forgetting things. Have managed to embarass myself at my DD's school by forgetting how to pay online for her school dinners (she has been there since last September)and had to phone the school and ask, sent my final MA assignment plan to a man in the uni library and not my Tutor??????? And went to get tax for one of our cars and realised the MOT had run out a "while" ago (am not admitting to how long ago :rotfl:) and cancelled the childcare for my son but forgot I still had a months worth of vouchers to use up - the nursery were lovely and are keeping littlest DS for a further 6 days. We have also had a burglary in our street 2 days ago - so what do I do? Lock the doors from the inside and leave the keys dangling in the keyhole outside :o -should have just put a sign up saying "please let yourself in." Plus loads of little things - perhaps I am just going a bit mad??? :p Feel better after that lol.

Am shattered and swelling too - so big hugs for all those feeling as rough or even as stupid as me :o MW said not to worry you are nearly there now! Great- but how much more dangerous will I be by the end :rotfl:

The delightful sunshiney discreet and cheerful Bounty woman (can you detect a touch of sarcasm here) will visit/hound you on the post-natal ward for your details (to flog on for uber amounts of junk mail and cold calls) and possibly to do hideously overpriced photographs of your newborn... or alternatively - shove her head around the curtains and demand to know where the baby is. That's the pack with the child benefit forms in (but you can request them online via the directgov site I believe if you don't want to deal with such a nice lady).

The bounty lady we had was lovely. She took lovely photos which we purchased. I didn't think they were anymore extortionate than any professional photographer. I also don't recall getting junk calls from them, but I do remember getting lots from Emmas Diary which annoyed me cos I asked several times to be removed from the database and they still called.

I'm hoping that I get caught by the bounty lady next time as I really want the photos again.

No, you're not going mad. I've done that about 5 times since living here when NOT pregnant :o Keys dangling from the lock all night with the car keys on too with the car on the drive! Oops.

You might need to ask. I had to both times. This time I was told they don't have the bounty packs at the health centre anymore, so I asked for one when I went for a consultant appointment at the hospital. You then get a plastic wallet with mostly junk, but a voucher to pick up the first bag at boots/superdrug. Mine has washing powder samples, comfort samples, a persil towel and a mini pot of sudocrem (I love these mini pots).

Then you hopefully will get the bag after giving birth at hospital. I don't even recall getting it to be honest, was a bit out of it, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 'bounty' lady though.

I thought my child benefit form was in the bunch of 'leaving hospital' paperwork I was given. Along with leaflets on aftercare, breastfeeding, numbers to call if things don't seem right etc.

Oops! :rotfl: I've very nearly locked myself out of the house several times when taking the dog for a walk, so I've started singing "Keys are good, keys are good" (to the tune of Ebeneezer Goode) when I'm getting ready to go out. I've been trying to remember to take my mobile phone with me as well just in case since I cannot for the life of me remember my husband's mobile number and if I did lock myself out, I'd be stuck all day. That would be a great way to go into labour - locked out with the dog, no phone, no purse, no notes...

Hope your baby turns for you. Mine has been head down for a few weeks now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed he stays that way. If I get down on my hands and knees, the dog thinks I'm playing a game with her and tries to wriggle underneath me and lick my face, so I've been rocking on my birth ball to encourage the baby into a nice position.
  • Happy mothers day to everyone that is already a mummy! I wish I was a mummy today but will have to wait till next year. I'm due tomorrow.... Wonder if it'll kick off tonight!

I am booked in for a sweep on Thursday so please cross your fingers for me for my baby to be in my arms by the end of the week.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying being pregnant! I've enjoyed the last 9 weeks that I have been off work, just being able to chill and prepare for my baby. So hope you all are enjoying it too :)

This is my last Mothering Sunday not being a mummy and it just feels strange. We won't make a big deal of it next year because
we aren't practicing Christians and, as far as I am concerned, every day should be special for us mummies and mummies-to-be. It is hard work incubating and nuturing a potential new life for 40 weeks (give or take a few!).

Has anyone had sore ribs?? I am going to mention it when I see my Midwife on Tuesday but was wondering if it is one of the things that come with being preggo.

Those of you who remember my post on the other board about the ganglion on my wrist might want to know that it is down to being preggo (I was referred by my doctor). I just feel as though I am falling apart at the moment. As well as my wrist giving my grief, my legs and feet hurt and I start physio next week for my back. I just keep having to remind myself that it is all for a good cause and that my little treasure pie will be here soon.

    28 weeks tomorrow :)
