Had my 15 week checkup today & I got to hear baby's heartbeat which I'm mega excited about!

Told OH that nothing would happen this appointment so he didn't come - oops! All of my bloods etc are fine though and I appear to be in tip top health...for a change!

It's lovely isn't it? You could get your OH to come to the next one...25 weeks is it (assuming first baby) if he wants to hear the heartbeat.

I bought a doppler today! It came up on a local group for a fiver, so couldn't really resist at that price. Took me a good 10 minutes to find the heartbeat - was about to give up but found it in the end. It was nice :) I'm still not feeling any movements. Quite disappointed as I'm 17+3 now and last time I was 18+1. Really hoped I'd feel them earlier this time.

A pregnant lady at a baby group had to have her wedding ring cut off this week because her fingers got so swollen. I know last time I had to take my engagement ring off cos it got too tight, but I managed to keep my wedding ring on.

My feet are swollen a bit as my pumps I got for when the weather is warmer don't fit. Not sure if they allow sandals/open toed shoes at school, I hope so as I reckon I could get something like that cheaper and comfier for the summer.

I think that it is a bit harsh having a pop at those who rarely post. Despite reading lots, I go through phases of posting and not posting and I have consistently been like this from when I was five weeks gone. At the moment, I'm shattered and in constant pain. When I get home from work I just want to huddle up on the sofa with my blankie. Baby is progressing well though - thank gawd. We all know that our energy levels are affected the further on we are.

I can't remember who posted about the glucose test *but* not wishing to sound melodramatic going from 9pm to 12.15pm without food was one of the toughest things that I have ever had to do in my life. I am so glad that I took a friend a long for moral support.

    28 weeks on Monday :)

Woo - now to add to the SPD I've got meaning I can't walk or drive... rib pain has arrived - so I can't lie down comfortably or sit down either... can't stand for the pelvic pain and I've not mastered levitation yet.

Hey has anyone else not really gained much weight? I am 24+5 and despite eating like a greedy horse I have probably only gained about 8 pound so far. I am normally a size 8-10 and very short and it's only my belly a boobs that have got bigger. Haven't seen the midwife since 16 wks so I hope my progress is ok.

I managed to record it for him so he didn't totally miss out but he says he's coming to every other appointment - just incase! :rotfl:

dippydooda - you're lucky! Ive put on 28lb, and thats not with consciously eating for 2, its probably just being extra hungry and eating more as a result...and the takeaways when I was feeling too sickly to cook..its all boobs, bump, bum and legs with me (so everything then, lol)

I had to stop wearing my wedding rings a good few weeks ago now, am just wearing a different ring on my ring finger but thats feeling a bit tight too.. :o

Oo pigpen hope you are keeping ok with the uti - my sister has it too and not coping well with it so has been in and out of hospital

btw does anyone know how you sign up for child benefit? does the midwife give you a form or something?
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

I think the forms are in the last bounty pack that you get from the midwife when you have the baby. Then once you have the birth certificate, you can send off for it. Can take up to eight weeks though, same with tax credits!

Mogwai , if I remember correctly, once your had baby you get given a bounty pack in hospital and it was in there about child benefit , or did I go to job centre and get a form , oh I can't remember now lol Near,y 7 years ago. It's one or the other !!

I'm really struggling pulling myself out of the bed now, feel like I need a rope to pull on to help me get up.

Started packaging my hospital bag yesterday and made my self another list with more bits to buy to go in it. Getting there slowly!!

Can't believe in 5 to 7 weeks I'll be having my 3rd and finally baby, I keep going into little day dreams about what he will look like, as my first had no hair and brwn eyes, long and skinny and was just a beautiful baby and my second had loads of black hair which just stood up all the time and was chubby and short ad was all squash up, so very different!! My oldest child is spitting image of me :-) and youngest is more like husband but has got blue eyes which must run down from my mum.. Oh how exciting ?!?

Hope every one is keeping well xx

Hi all. Well, given the weight discussion I jumped on the scales this morning, I've put on 13lbs. Not sure if that's good or bad. I'll probably get massive these last nine weeks. Lol.
Feeling a bit low today. There have only been two people (other than my family) who have been really thrilled for me being pregnant. All I've had from other people are catty remarks or assuming it wasn't planned. I got another comment this morning about being an old parent, It's really beginning to get me down now. I wouldn't mind, but I'm in much better shape and health now than I was when I had my first two. Deep breath and carry on.
    Love to all. X

The delightful sunshiney discreet and cheerful Bounty woman (can you detect a touch of sarcasm here) will visit/hound you on the post-natal ward for your details (to flog on for uber amounts of junk mail and cold calls) and possibly to do hideously overpriced photographs of your newborn... or alternatively - shove her head around the curtains and demand to know where the baby is. That's the pack with the child benefit forms in (but you can request them online via the directgov site I believe if you don't want to deal with such a nice lady).

The catch is that you need the SHORT (and useless apart from this one use) birth certificate to send off the CB forms... and there can be a fair wait for a registrar's appointment to get the birth registered (I think local to us it's about a 3 week wait time) - and then the child benefit processing wait time as well on top of that - but it's backdated.

And I'm afraid I scared our Bounty lady away when she did the "where's the baby" crap! She spent the next fortnight trying to avoid me (daft moo had nearly mowed me down on crutches several times restocking the bins of packs down in ante natal as well - she was NOT a nice woman).

Woke up this morning with on/off period type pains... have had so many pains down there with ribs and pelvis it's hard to work out what's going on - doesn't seem to be the regularity with them there was when things kicked off prematurely last time so I'm kind of dithering about ringing the midwives in case it's nowt... while the little lady is down for her nap I'm trying to keep an eye on when they come to see if there IS a pattern to them before I start doing things like hauling hubby outta work or whatever. Also don't want to go down to the hospital not to be taken seriously - despite having form for this happening - so would rather have a fuller picture before I call in.
