Congratulations new mummies!
Can't believe I am 12 on the list, I remember only yesterday being in the 50s!
Feeling super grumpy and ready to get baby outta here now to be honest - very uncomfortable with back and SPD issues. Waiting to find out what my consultant suggest on Monday!
xxBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Hello all,
I am a graduate from the last thread but have been MIA for the past few weeks due to crazy busyness at work! We are off to Italy this weekend for our 'last hurrah' holiday :T
We have chosen a pushchair (city jogger mini gt) and car seat (maxi cosi), have been given a giant bag of newborn baby clothes from a good friend (half of which are unworn!), but have not actually bought anythingWhen we get back we are going to get organised!
Nice to see lots of familiar names - scary that I'm on the final thread!!
Pippa x0 -
thanks gilly - i already have one avent freebie and 1 mam freebie bottle and my aunt is getting us TT steriliser starter set so maybe ill try out these 3 and see which he takes to..! actually it will save me the hassle of making a decision if baby just makes it for me! :T
Another option is to buy one set - I have the Avent again and the steriliser - and you can just change the teats if baby is not a fan. Obviously won't work with every bottle and every teat - but a lot of bottles will take a different set of teats without having to buy a whole new set
queen B - any movement yet? Or is baby too comfy?
Saffagal - I am trying to be organised with this assignment but I have very little motivation as am a bit tired. Also a bit peed off that I get no maternity break whatsoever - this MA has taken up a lot of time and although this is my final assignment of the year I am struggling to get going. On the upside when its in - that is the first year done  and I am off till September then. DH is taking one weeks paternity leave so we have agreed I will NOT look at a book for that timebut will get straight back to it after....:(
I had a shopping spree on Thursday and only need to get cot sheets, car seat and a tub of formula and I am readyOnly buying the basics again, not all the stuff you apparently "need"
. Hospital bag stuff bought and just needs packing too. So that is tomorrows job providing the weather stays so lovely!
Off to the beach this afternoon as the weather here is sunny but very nippy. We live about 30 minutes drive from the beach and the kids would happily spend every week there. We used to go on a regular basis but with my hyperemesis I was petrified of going because being sick on the beach is not something I relish doing in front of everyoneThough having been sick in almost every public place going you think I would be used to it  But for some reason the beach has been out of bounds perhaps because it is so open and kids are everywhere. I am now at the stage that I could get back to the car in time if need be
Then we will have fish and chips for tea - saves me cooking :T
IHateDida - I agree that list is moving fast  It seems to go in fits and starts. I am number 21!!! Not long till we are topping the list
Hope everyone has a lovely day xxxxxxxxxx0 -
IHateDida Ive been buying baby stuff in the last 3 weeks, and bought my pram at the baby show (icandy peach in silver) - cant wait til it arrives now! I saw the tutti bambini glider chair at the show and that was amazing, so comfortable
I sat on that chair for about half an hour!!! The staff kept looking at me but my pelvis was killing me so I wasn't budging! If I have room, I will buy one as I agree, they are soooooo comfy!
I now have bought all major purchases (i didn't want to be too poor as I hit maternity leave!) apart from reusable nappies - I think I will probably go for those all in one nappy that grows with the child. I saw 2 variaties at The Baby Show and will probably opt for one of those.
We are about halfway through our home renovation - ordered the bathroom last week - half of the walls have now been plastered and most of the electrics and plumbing have been done. I cannot wait for new kitchen to be fitted on the 18th - our home is nothing to look at and quite small but we will have a 20 foot kitchen/diner with a window seat - and I am so excited!!!! The OH even bought me a chandelier for my birthday - totally out of place in our house but its my sparkling bit of bling for the dining area!!! (probably to be encased in baby food in a few month but who cares - its sparkly and thats all that counts:rotfl:!!!!).0 -
Hey Pippi80 - lovely to see another familar face0

Hello hello - sorry not to get here sooner. Announcing the safe arrival of Inigo Henry; weighing 6lb 4oz. We've had a bit of a rough start as he needed to be readmitted to hospital with jaundice and dehydration; but we're home now and getting to know how a family of four works. He's a cutie!0

Congrats Sarahs999 another new arrival!
I've had a rough night. Started being sick at 9.30pm and kind of carried on every 2 hrs through the night. Not really attempted anything in but sips of water today & DH just made me beans on toast as he's worried about the baby. Not sure what it is, just a bug or something I've eaten (we had the same dinner though and he was fine). Don't like to think of the baby having nothing all day, seems to be wriggling more, hope it doesn't feel rough too.x0 -

Aww, baby won't have had nothing though. S/he will be totally unaffected by a few days of your poorliness because you've got lots of stores of stuff that the baby can call on. And wriggling's good, btw. An active baby's a happy one.
I remember having a terrible fever when I was pregnant and feeling like a dog's dinner. I spoke to my paediatrician brother who reassured me that my baby would be completely oblivious to how I was feeling - the womb's this carefully controlled environment and temperature, nutrition etc. will be unaffected by how you're feeling right now.
You'll feel terrible for eating nothing all day but your baby will be fine
Make sure you keep up on your fluid intake though - we get a third of our fluid through our food intake so if you're not eating, you need to drink more."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hi everyone, I am moving up from the last thread. This is my first baby and am 24+1. Hi to a few names I know already, ihatedida we are also doing a house up ready to move into, sounds like we are at similar stages too, hoping they will start on the kitchen and bathroom this week! we currently live in a tiny 1 bed flat above our business-a cafe-and it is cramped enough just us and the dog so desperately needed somewhere bigger, our new house is not huge but got a mega bargain at auction and it'll be so nice to have everything all new
I know it's discussed quite often but I do need some advice on carseats and bases. I am having the Babystyle Oyster pram which you cna use with maxi cosi cabrio/citi/pebble. Now i had blindly inttended just getting the pebble and a familyfix base, but now I've seen it comes to about 270 i am thinking twice! What's everyone else having?
I shall add myself to the list0 -
