  • Jealous mogwai - I'd have loved a peach blossom2 for my imminent duo - but no way I could afford! Got rid of one of the pushchairs breeding in this house - that double's one my mum bought and got delivered here - it's gone to live at her house so we don't have to cart a buggy up when we go to stay there... just need the Cherry to sell now and will be down to sensible levels - a single umbrella fold going into the shed when bump comes along, our "proper" double with carrycot, car seat etc and the umbrella double we bought to keep in the car for quick trips out or impromptu popping into shops.

Pelvis went a very horrid crunch in the night last night so am suffering now!

Wednesday will be the point in last pregnancy where I started losing plug last time so I'm understandably anxious.

Hey Mogwai - I went to baby show also - but on Friday! Had a really lovely time - it was relatively quiet when we arrived but got dramatically busier in the afternoon!

Had a lovely 4 days in London also just chilling, eating and cathing up with an old friend! Plus 8 hours shopping along Oxford Street:eek: - had to keep sitting down as I have a dodgy pelvis - but heyho - had a good day despite the pain!

Got to try the pram we bought blind 2 weeks ago (Zezu) - haha! I quite like it - but then I don't have anything to compare it with - would have preferred a Bugaboo though.....!

Also picked up some freebies - a beanie hat (as we were some of the first - I sent the OH running as the show opened!), a MAM self sterilising bottle, and also a microwave steriliser (after signing up to a magazine - which would have cost me the same anyway!). We also went to 3 courses; Daddynatal for the OH, Babynatal and also an intro into hypnobirthing (I orginally typed hypobirthing - oops - I think I'm feeling fat!:rotfl:). All really worth attending and feel a bit more clued up before my NCT course in a few weeks! Might try and sign up to a hypnobirthing course too - I liked the theory of it - whether it would work in practice....I'm not sure! Haha!

Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing weekend!:)

dizziblonde - you can buy the icandys from the baby shows for about a third off if you get there early and nab one of the display models. The peach blossom on display had a sold sign on it..sounds like you are due any moment but if you wanted to pick a peach blossom later on there are still baby shows in may and october..

We had the chance to buy a black or purple peach 2 for 660 with carrycot and car seat but OH didnt want to buy a display model and i preferred silver

claretsgirl i had dreams about my new pram last night, though i have been generally dreaming prams whenever we used to try them out!

Am aching today from running around all day at the show though..:o
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

10 minute phonecall to MIL... number of digs/blaming me/requests for a better functioning uterus this time regarding the last baby coming prematurely... at least five.

Am annoyed. Am not getting backed by hubby so am doubly annoyed. Don't even WANT her down here when the baby's born anyway after the way she behaved last time - screeching and wailing melodramatically when she saw her (because obviously it was a cause for such horror and dismay... it flipping wasn't - she was just small, not like the stereotypical prems you see on the TV etc), shoving me physically out of the way so I didn't get to do anything other than stand in the corner watching MIL lord it up at first bath time etc... now loads of digs about the fact she came early and what I was/wasn't doing - like if you can explain to me how the hell I'm meant to rest my SPD with a 10 month old to look after, without short changing HER, and with no support during the day at all, and my family doing what they can but it being minimal (my mum's been up and down doing a 4 hour journey to help out on weekends that she can do), and her just sitting in splendour in her living room blaming me for it all and going through the motions of asking how I am then talking through the answer (yes I can barely walk, am in tears climbing the stairs, have days where I can't drive, struggle like mad getting into a car or even stepping over the cat, and I have to plan moving my big girl around the house in 5 step max staging post type steps - but you don't really care you want to witter on about something you've told us 10 times before about what next door have put on their curtains or something).

    Grrr.

Dizzi, make sure you repeat to everyone in hospital that you do not want mil to go in the delivery suite, nor immediately after the birth. Put it on your notes too.

I went to the NHS physio after getting a referral when I was 7-8 months pregnant. It was good she saw me every week and she could also do acupuncture if required.

I gave birth in December and bought a moses basket. Now I'm looking for a cotbed, I realized that all my baby club vouchers from different retailers have expired!! :( Has anyone got any left that is not going to be used? I'm looking at mothercare, boots, Tesco, etc; vouchers for furniture/ cotbeds. Thanks!!!!

hope you feel better for getting that off your chest! all you can do is your best. The basic such as folic acid, not drinking & not smoking and the rest is fate. I hate the blame game, what will be will be. I'm not telling my parents until 6 months because they'll make such a fuss and tell me I'm doing the wrong things and make me feel like a cr8p mum-to-be.

Oh in hindsight I realise MIL has collossal issues surrounding the prematurity thing - from the hysterics in the hospital, to the fact she has NO photos of the little one until after her NG tube was removed and she looked "normal" and the fact that she basically starts talking rubbish about anything and doesn't stop until I do if I ever respond to her quibbling about milestones with a reminder that we wouldn't be expecting development on a par with her chronological age and to use her adjusted age in terms of expectations.

Didn't realise quite what an issue it was, and quite how much MIL and SIL have obviously been sat playing the blame game at my expense in private until now. They DO tend to do this - sit in private and dissect everything I've said or done - but obviously they've sat there and worked out a way I was to blame for the prem baby thing... which is quite an achievement really, considering none of the doctors who have like bits of paper and stuff have figured out why it happened last time round!

I sense there will not be an easy or comfortable conversation with hubby to do - last time I broached the MIL issue it ended up in an apocalyptic row and me considering leaving him.

26 weeks tomorrow and I spent last week as sick as a dog. Never been so exhausted in my life and my doctor was relunctant to prescribe anything for the virus that I had :(

Much better now which is the main thing.

My baby is having a growth spurt at the moment and my bump feels very uncomfortable. I can't believe that he will be here soon and I can't believe that I am almost in the third and final trimester.
  • 38 weeks tomorrow, I cannot believe that when I joined this forum I was in the 50's and now if the ones due have theirs I'll be in the less than 10s.

Can everyone cross their fingers that my baby arrives this week, me and oh are ready and want our lo here ASAP.

Dizzi- I read all your posts and cannot even begin to know what you have been through but what I will say is this is your child, ignore you mil and sil they have no bearing on your child. And it sounds like you let it get to you too much, concentrate on yourself and the baby in your belly :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
