  • Are you jumping the queue Mrshaworth? ;)

Oh god don't say that, why is it you go 8 months thinking your ready and then as soon as a little sign happens you think you need another 8 months lol!! I want my baby now but I don't think I'm ready for my first birth lol :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • the best I can offer is, when in labour, think positively. Just think it's only a little time and then you'll meet your baby :)

Luckily, both my births were 4hrs each so I was quite lucky. I wonder what my 3rd will be. DD2 was born at 7:03am , DD1 was born at 7:05pm and weighed 7lbs 4oz. Weird huh.
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..
  • Can u add me please? I am expecting number 5! Due 9 th october also. Still getting over the shock of it as my little boy is only 9 months old! Excited still though. X
  • Thank you, I could be here a while yet. The advice is welcomed and appreciated though :)

good luck MrsHaworth, hope it all goes smoothly for you. I wouldn't wish you another 8 months of pregnancy tho - unless you want mine!
  • Morning ladies !!! Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend :)

claretsgirl - If I remember rightly, your age gap is bigger than mine (mine was just over 10 years) and I still get people commenting even after having a now 3 and 4 year old. Now I am pregnant with number 4, I keep getting but DS2 would be in school in September and you are starting again????? You will always get comments just smile, that is what I have learnt to do! I was talking to a young girl yesterday waiting for my Consultant appointment and she was saying she had a 7 year age gap between this baby and her other daughter. I explained about my age gap etc and she said "I do think your mad, would you not like to get some qualifications and a job at some point? That is what I want to do, so I will only be having the two." I kindly pointed out I have had a very good career, qualifications coming out of my ears and have taken a 2 year career/maternity break to have (my very much wanted and planned) number 4 baby and finish my Masters. Shocked was an understatement from the look on her face :rotfl: She then started talking about going to college next year after baby was here, so maybe I did change her mindset. I really don't think she meant to be rude and some people will always have opinions, but if yours is right for your family, then so be it :) Lots of people say I am mad, and I am happy to let them think it :rotfl:

When I went to the doctors at 6 weeks and she admitted me straight to hospital with hyperemesis, her last words to me were, "I want to see you back after the baby is here to discuss some contraception". Ha ha, thanks for that, but at 36 after 4 planned pregnancies and many years experience of working with young mums, I am more than capable of sorting out my own contraception :rotfl: But thanks for the kind offer :)

Consultants appointment went ok, am measuring 6-7cm over and will be seen at 36 weeks again. They have no major concerns and it looks like baby will be another 10lb er, so they have said induction may not have to be done this time as I have managed the other 3 naturally :T:T:T:T Best news I have had for a while :) But iron count is still quite low, so need to be eating even more spinach :) Popeye would be jealous as I am putting it in every meal here at the moment, unbeknown to the rest of the family :rotfl:

helen4891 - hope that water infection has gone?? I remember having one with my DD and the backache was excruciating to the point I thought I was in labor :(

mrshaworth2b - Oooh not long to go now, just the final countdown :) I am jealous, I have never had a show :rotfl: Oh and you are more than welcome to have my last 8 weeks attached to your pregnancy :)

Number 26 on the list  I haven't looked at that for ages - how did I get up there!!!

Well of to the library again - been there for 8 hours every day this week trying to finish my assignment :( As I am going away next weekend for a belated Valentine/ early birthday break and I want it gone by then :T Only the second night I have had a night away from the kids and I am sooooo excited!!!! But that is probably because we are staying near to Ikea, so I am going to have a leisurely stroll round without the children. I know, I am so sad.....:o

Have a lovely weekend ladies xxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Feeling a bit relieved by the pain of UTIs talk, I thought I was just being a bit of a wimp about stretching pains but found out I have an infection and glucose in my wee, so blood test on Tuesday and antibiotics :( Am utterly exhausted too... Hope I can sleep tonight. Am off swimming tomorrow which I hope helps the backache

Morning all. I finished work on Friday and don't go back until 2014. I haave been focussing on Maternity Leave so much I keep forgetting there is a baby at the end of it!

I am 34+5 now and baby is measuring on the 98th centile so have to see my consultant on Tuesday. Not sure what (if anything) they will do. This is my third but my other two were 7.1 and 7.12 so average sized.

My two will be 8 and 10 and have been told my one midwife that 'I must be mad to start again' - I am 29. Not exactly ancient. The best was the midwife who said ' I take it this is a new partner with such a big age gap between babies' Errrm no! x

  • How rude are some of these midwives, I'm shocked as mine is lovely.
  • I just think that some of these midwives need to put their brains in gear before they open their mouths! A little insensitivity can be really upsetting with all these hormones flying around. When I was having my first I clearly remember one midwife saying I was no where near ready to be wheeled down to the delivery suite, when two hours later I was back on the ward with my baby!
Chonorla, there is fourteen months to the day between my first two and now a fifteen and a half years gap! Lol. Maybe I am mad. :-))
    Mrshaworth2b - Good luck. X
