Mrshaworth2b wrote: »Hello it's prob different everywhere like everything lol but where I live you have to be 34 weeks to go to classes for nhs. We went to one and it was too like school with ice breakers etc!
I had my 36 week appointment today, took my
Bloods so hope my iron is ok so I can birth at the birth centre. I have my baby shower/24th birthday party this sunday can't wait. Then I'm ready for the baby, just need to pack my bag!!
I'd have been screwed then! My NHS ones were three weeks long and the last one must have been week 33 since in hindsight I now know I'd lost some of my mucus plug in the toilets in the middle of the last class.
I'll admit I found them pretty crap content-wise (particularly the breastfeeding one which consisted of her shoving a video on from about the 1980s judging by the mullets on display and disappearing off for a cup of tea for 30 minutes) but I've since ran into a few women that knew me from them at various groups (think people remembered me more for being the poor blighter on crutches). Quite depressing when they were all due long before me (I was one of the latest due dates on the course) and I've got the oldest baby out of all of 'em!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Thanks for the support ladies. Really wish I hadn't gone now. Might have a urine infection, or it might just be nothing, and I will also need to go back in two weeks because my measurements are too small! Talk about getting me worried. Oh, and because I wasn't referred early enough by my GP all the classes etc are booked up anyway. All in all, not a great morning. LOL. Hope everyone is well. X
ETA Oh, and to top it all, when I walked into my appointment the midwife said 'you must be mad, starting again at your age'! Nice.0 -
How bl00dy rude of the midwife! I'd definitely be complaining and asking for another one!0

Hi ladies,
Hope you are all well.
I went for my 20wk scan 2day was lovely seeing the twins again although I didnt really get to see much as I was unable to have any earlier checks they were concentrating on getting all the details they needed. They were just showing me the babies when I almost passed out so they stopped the scan!! OH got a good look though.
My last time in hospital was ok apart from the bed being uncomfortable and the woman in next bed having baby taken away by social services! I really felt awful for her but obviously realised that the baby was being taken away for good reason. Was definitely not what I wanted to hear though

Guess you'd have judged me then having to go through endless phonecalls with a SS investigation going on after my daughter was born - all phonecalls conducted on the phone in the centre of the ward. Coupled with certain staff who had the discretion levels of a number 37 bus - I'm sure everyone knew what was going on and probably had me chalked down as some mental druggie mother running a brothel from my kitchen windowsill or something.
My "crime"? I'd got upset and scared (particularly being yelled at and bullied) and tried to resist a forceps - so they rang SS on me. It's a "strike" I can never get removed from our records - even though there was concluded no case to answer - and a massive stigma I feel even now... I have nightmares most nights that the hospital will ring 'em again after this birth and they'll come take my kids away.
I just mention this because people get so judgey about those they see involved with social services that people like me tend to feel they need to keep quiet - which helps to perpetuate the stigma (and let hospitals get away with the crap they pulled with us).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Well I woke up this morning with a brown stain, midwife at the birth centre said itll be my show, very nerve racking now I know at some point I will have to give birth, think I need another 8 months to get my head around it
ive told the baby anytime after Monday will be fine so I can go to the birth centre. I'm telling him not to rush, finally packed my bag for the birth! Eeek

Are you jumping the queue Mrshaworth? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Dizzi (((hugs))) But your baby wasn't taken, she was left with you because SS could see there wasn't an issue. I had some interfereing b!tch from the childrens centre ring them because I refused antenatals with my 9th and because apparently I was making up my childrens disabilities.. I put in a complaint about her and she got fired as it was not the first time appaerntly she did it a lot. It also says 'difficult' a lot in my notes and the word 'refused' appears a lot lol.
When DGS2 was in scbu a woman turned up to visit her baby and the ward had just discharged it to SS, they didn't even tell her they were taking the baby they just turned up and took it. She was a druggie and an alcoholic. It is a sad fact these people exist.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi
I'm benice and I'm 6 weeks preggers and not patient about it at all! It's because I'm trying not to tell people until my first scan which then makes me worry about the reasons people don't say anything until the first scan. I'm due October 9th.claretsgirl wrote: »ETA Oh, and to top it all, when I walked into my appointment the midwife said 'you must be mad, starting again at your age'! Nice.
I would definitely complain that's really rude!0 -
