My 18 y/o vaccinated daughter contracted whooping cough last summer, she spent days here in the weeks before she was dx. The only person she shared it with was her newborn son who ended up in hospital for a week when he was a few weeks old. None of my unvaccinated or other vaccinated children, sisters or I ended up with it despite the large amount of time we spent with her... it isn't *that* contagious obviously that is just part of their scaremongering. None of us got it when my younger sister had it aged 2 either.. but she has had everything going! DD1 was exposed aged 2 weeks and never got it then either, we have no idea where she got it from this time, the only place she had been was here, the GP and maternity unit!

If you have had it already you have an immunity so are very unlikely to get it again.

Sure I've missed loads of other bits!

AFM, had consultant appointment today (6 days til due date), she asked what the plan was? What plan? What's been discussed at previous consultant visits? Er, not very much they wondered why I was there! Surely I wanted t be induced at term as had a big baby last time? Asked why as surely you only get induced early for medical reason! She agreed it wasn't necessary and signed me off to Midwifes only.

Then had midwife this afternoon, she read my notes and said consultant had written that she recommended induction at term! Er, no, she offered no real advice and did NOT say that!

Anyone else had experience of this?! X x

I watched obem last night like I have done since it started again and normally I watch it and really enjoy it and learn something new. However last night something freaked me out and really upset me, I'm really worried now that im not strong enough to deal with giving birth. Guess its the hormones but I need a pep talk!

omg ladies..I miss you all lots..am so so sorry that haven't had a chance..been struggling with the BF but eventually getting there esp as Little Andrey was not discharged by the midwife at the second meeting...:-( so I panicked to feed him to gain weight and yesterday he was discharged. :-) he is three weeks today.. I need to read back lots so will try and write back...congrsts to new mummies. xxx good luck to boldies xx rups and andre xx

Just back from hospita, yes from 11.30 till 4.30. Had monitors around mt tummy to check baby's heartbeat then had to wait hours to get an internal. It turned out i am in labour, not active tho, dilated to 2-3 cm without realizing it, my contractions are irregular and was sent home, she said it can take hours or days... lets hope for tomorrow after a good night sleep

Morocha - I am very excited for you! Sounds like baby will be with you in no time.

Woo for BH and nothing more serious Just want a house.

Need to start upping my RLT, only been having one cup a day and I'm 36 weeks tomorrow, need to get my birth plan down on paper ready to take to the midwife on Monday.

Labour vibes to the boldies and hope everyone else is well.

Oooh morocha exciting!
It looks like I'm going to have the GTT for diabetes too. Bump is still big, went to hospital today after MW referred me last week, bit of a waste of time really, doctor measured and said, yup, bump is big, but nothing she's going to do about it yet. She's put me down for a GTT next week (sounds like lots of sitting around) and then growth scan at 28 weeks to see what's going on. I'm measuring 31 now, when I should be 26, oh well. I don't mind a big baby, just hope it's long and thin and slippery like an eel!

Ugh, ladies I am so fed up. I hate coming on & moaning, especially with all the positive news we've had on here recently but I am just so uncomfortable which is strange because up until this last couple of days I've been really good Was quite crampy last night & today so I'm hoping it's a sign of an impending arrival & have been doing plenty of walking today to try & encourage some movement!!!

Quick question for those of you who've experienced labour before...I'm not sure if my waters broke earlier. Prepare for TMI... I felt like I needed to go for a wee, went to the loo & not much happened, bit of a dribble, and then there was quite a gush but there's been nothing since. Could that have been waters or just my bladder going into overdrive?!?! :rotfl:

Due date is tuesday 29th so not long to go & the midwife is coming to do a sweep if Bean hasn't put an appearance in before then, then again on the 5th if he's still not arrived. Then I'm seeing the consultant again on the 5th (after the midwife has been) to discuss induction although I'm keen to let Bean arrive naturally if possibly, despite being so uncomfortable.

Had our pictures from the bump shoot Absolutely love them. They're an amazing reminder of how fab I've felt during pregnancy & how proud I've been of my figure throughout. I'll add a few for you to see so here's hoping they're not too big & noone is offended by the sight of my bump or that I've posted too many Here goes...avert your eyes if you don't want to see











Feeling a bit better now I've moaned, asked my question & posted some bump pics It makes me smile looking through them! Can't quite believe I'm no8 on the list :eek: That seems to have come around really fast!

Glad things went well at the hospital morocha, a little jealous you're in labour & dilating though I hope things continue to go well for you & your little one appears soon. Nice to hear from you too rups, it's seems strange without you here! Glad you & Andre are doing well too & that you feel like you're getting there, I'm sure you're doing fab! :T

I'm sure I've missed loads but baby brain has well & truly kicked in now so congrats to those I've missed, labour vibes to those who need them (including me!!!) and hugs to everyone who needs them too
