hi ladies how are you all? im so sorry i kind of vanished completely. things just happened and i ended up having a c-sec...will try and find some time to read posts and put my birth story . hope you all have been well and congrats to new mummies too. :-)

my boy Andr! was born on the 3rd of jan, weighing 8 pounds 8lb.. not a chubster baby but tall. weird as none of us are tall. will try and be back soon. its been mad and we only were at home properly from yest. xx good luch boldies. xx

Hallo ladies How has your week been thus far?

Mine has been a little busy; Monday I was shattered so found work really hard going doing induction all day (still recovering from the busy weekend I think!) and had awful hip pain all day. Tues evening we had our first antenatal class (nhs classes) which makes it seem very real! DH was dreading going but actually thinks it was time well-spent and is glad I insisted.

The nursery furniture we bought aren't a set, but do all match each other and I'll use vinyl stick-ons to match them to the rest of the nursery (doing a very hungry caterpillar theme). The cupboard/drawers are ones that will work with baby but also be suitable when baby is older. Furniture and cot are all being delivered next Wed - Yay!!! And even better, my manager agreed that I can work from home that day instead of having to take AL!!!

Rups, Congrats on Andre and look forward to reading your story when you've some more time.

Great to hear from you! Congratulations on the birth of your son...how are you recovering from your CS? I had an elective CS for my little boy and I am only now starting to get my strength back! I haven't had to take any painkillers today and I have been v v careful not to let the wound get wet during showers...have so far managed to avoid a wound infection.
Where did you get your son's name from - I love it!

I have a John Lewis moses basket looking for a new home for free. I got it from a lovely lady on freecycle and baby Kavics only slept in it the first two weeks, I do not need it anymore. Dippydooda, originally I wanted an Africa theme but last summer I went to buy a length of fabric to cover a pin board in the nursery (using batting). I couldn't find an Africa one I liked but saw some very hungry Caterpillar fabric that I decided would work - love the colours!
I found some room stickers on eBay though did see them on other websites too - vinyl stickers, telling the story . you can use them on walls/furniture. Also bought a nursery bedding set off eBay (not very mse but not confident enough with my sewing skills to sew it myself).
Lots of places sell toys and also quite a lot of baby clothes about.

Hello everyone!

Happy due date madnessandmayhem and hngrymummy

Good to hear you are well Rups. Looking forward to reading your birth story and that you and DH are enjoying parenthood.

Nursery themes - there was far too much to choose from and we are team hello which can be restricting to a certain extent. So far we have a set of Rosie and Rex pictures from M&P and matching sleeping bag. walls are going to be painted light green and our furniture is oak coloured. Cotbed can be used as a bed until 4-5 years old, changing unit can be transformed into a set of drawers and wardrobe is a full size one so we are happy our furniture should last for a few years.

Saffagal - I saw hungry caterpillar sleeping bags in my local TKMaXx last week, very cute and I'm sure they were something like £12.

Sainsburys are also doing a baby event, looks like its a good time to stock up.

Mrsh - how are you feeling now? Have the pains died down? I had a terrible night of front and back period pain consistently the other night, was bricking it but they calmed down and midwife said to come in if they pick up again, thankfully they haven't. So I've now packed mine and baby's hospital bags so we are prepared.

Me too ! i have spent the night with period pains and now back pains i amso happy, everything is slowly starting and will see my baby girl very soon !! MW said she is quite down, and already being a mum i dont think i will get full term...
