You're totally right - if you don't get the latch right from the start the problems just mount up. That's where I am now even though I reckon I've sorted most of the latching problems - the damage has already been done. Oh well, it will heal and we'll give it another go.

He's still getting my milk and he's still on the boob every other feed (which is so great for bonding I've discovered) so I'm trying not to feel too disheartened.

can anyone recommend good sites with patterns for making baby bits ? I have left over fabric from the blanket, going to do a smaller one without the wadding but would like to do a nappy holder/wipes thingy and maybe if im brave a changing pad.

Try googling free patterns too, and possibly the Burda website might have some.

I am making a quilt for the cot, and I plan to make a swaddling blanket and a sling when I am on mat leave. And bunting. And curtains. And a cot bumper. If we ever get around to sorting the nursery out, that is!! We have moved the double bed out. And I have persuaded DH that what our little one really needs is a wardrobe with drawers on the bottom, so that I can continue to buy and make a ridiculous amount of dresses :rotfl:and dungarees, of course.

We have got all the 0-3 baby gros and vests we need, 15 of each I think. Ive got 7 outfits, all either sale or eBay, for when we go out or have visitors, not massively fussed about getting her dressed up in the first few weeks otherwise. And a snow suit and little hat. My aunt is a knitter and she is on the case already. Got 10 bibs, some scratch mittens and some booties. I have been looking out for bundles of clothes on eBay, but most of them have got far too much pink in them for my liking. I don't want to put her in head to toe pink, a little bit is okay, but I don't want her to be conditioned from the minute she is born.

I have got quite a few 6-9 month stuff too. It's those darn sales, I have bought now for this time next year!

People have bought us a few bits for the baby, mostly in 3 - 6 months which is great as all our stuff is newborn or 0 - 3. However, most of them have failed to realise it will be winter by then. Not sure what I'm going to do with loads of summer romper suits come December
