MrsH2b - does your tummy go rock hard when you have the pains? If it does, it could be Braxton Hicks. Sometimes they don't hurt, other times they can be a bit painful. I'm getting up to 30 a day, and have been since 25 weeks. Bloomin annoying.

Obviously if you're worried about anything, then speak to your MW or GP.

I'm hoping that baby will make it's mind up and not be back-to-back. It was for ages, then turned the right way, then back again, and is now half way between the two, so could go either way. Back-to-back labour is really quite painful, so please make sure you're all sitting properly and not slouching.

MRs i hope they stop soon.

bamama you and baby are doing so so well..

queen_B my apetite has completely gone this entire pregnancy, i started to feel hungry around 35 wks i guess and in the last 4 wks put on 5 lbs do not know how i managed that one, iam not eating that much.

I felt constant pain in my tummy last night too, i thought i was going into labour!! My tummy gets upset v quickly now that i am pregnant, i had lots of veg yesterday and i guess it was a super plus for me. If i eat potatos,i get pains so badly in my tummy that it seems like the start of labour for me, followed by diahrrea~(Sp) tmi, i know. It is that bad, cos i love potatos and can not eat them.

I hope baby turns for you Morocha.

I'm a complete wuss with needles, so I can't stand the thought of an epidural :( I guess I'll be sucking on the gas and air a lot!

I wasn't planning on having an epidural but if baby is back to back then I might be asking for everything I can get my hands on. My baby's favourite position is head down with back to my left or with back to my tummy facing away from me.

Glad to hear you are not getting any worse mrsh.

Taken a break from sorting my baby stash to eat lunch, resisted the chocolate so far...

  • My pains have stopped again! Four hours again like last night, don't think it's braxtons, it was constant and my belly never went hard!! Baby is wriggling around so i'm sure things are fine! Maybe I'm stretching? :)

it could be that Mrs, it is still unconfortable?

Queen_b,i caved in and had a kitkat, one of those chunky ones, i am not into chocolate really but my apetite for junk food is on the rise...

HM, I am not afraid of needles but needles there scared me a bit, i guessing i will just go on how i feel in that moment.

Back from MW, belly measures 36cm now, so right on track i seemed to had a growth spurt. We did the birth plan, talked a bit, she felt my tummy and said that the head is quite down, maybe that is the reason why i was unconfortable last night. I so want baby to be born after friday :)

  • Evening ladies,

Thank you so much for all your comments on my list - and for the new mummies for taking the time to post....
It does seem i have a lot. My friend had a baby in March and ha given me a lot of the newborn stuff, i think i bought 1 pack of sleepsuits, and the 3 outfits - they are all sleepsuits too...just nicer ones for the baby to come home in ( i just couldn't decide which one i liked most)!
My mum also surprised me last week when she turned up with a huge white wicker basket full of stuff. Since we announced the pregnancy my mum has been buying something for the baby every time she goes shopping - hence the amount of packs of wipes, bibs and toiletries we have!

I do have a good mix of nappies though, huggies, pampers, tesco, asda and morrisons...we'll see how we get on and which one suit our baby most.

Gilly -you mentioned the arnica, i have some of the cusson bath soak with arnica in it....(although my mum said salt baths work the best), do you think i will need arnica tablets as well?

Marta - You suggested the witch hazel a while ago and i actually bought some - its in my hospital bag which is why i forgot to put it on my list.

Ikkle - i will def be getting more vests, i hadn't even thought of infacol -i will add that to my list also (better to be prepared). The fleece blanket we have - was hoping that would be ok at a pram blanket? We do have a cosy toes for the pram also. As for the snow suit, i would really like to get one in a colour for what flavour we have other than a neutral colour. My OH will probably get one soon after the birth, we have a think furry lined cardigan/jacket to brig baby home in...do you think that would be suitable?
You suggested the Victoria sling lady, i tried a sling on at a baby show a couple of months ago called cots2tots - was very comfy. However have just found out where my local sling meet is, so may pop along and have a chat with them. They hire you a sling for 1 month for £5, so might go that route to start with.

Fluff -thank you for your comments, had never heard of using olive oil to massage, but i s'pose that make perfect sense! Baby oil has now been taken off my list...thanks.

HM - i'm hoping to use the fleece blanket in the pram rather than for sleeping at night - it was a gift from my MIL so at least that way she will see it being used. You suggested the mat pads with aloe vera from mothercare..i actually bought some a few months ago, didn't realise til i saw the receipt that thy were £5.99 a pack of 24 though!!!!

Dizzi - thanks for the heads up on the velcro bibs... i would've forgotten that and probably ended up ruining something in the wash!

MrsH2b -hope you're feeling a bit better now and the pains have stopped?

Bamama - congrats on Dewi's weight gain, you guys are doing so well, is he still sleeping lots?

Miss BB - i bought some distilled witch hazel to put on mat pads...i assume it has the same effect as the gel?

Morocha -hope baby turns for you. Back to BAck does not sound comfortable! Thats really weird about the potatoes...i don't think i could live without potatoes..i love jacket spuds, oh and roasted sweet potatoes!!

If i have missed anyone i apologise...

AFM - been to aquanatal today, then went for a stroll around town trying to find DH a cheap diary for work. My back was killing me, but was determined to keep going....ended up being in town for 2 hours! i rewarded myself with some pick n mix - i love the sugar sour coated sweets at the moment!
Got home and my friend popped in for a cuppa, and now just sat on the sofa catching up! DH is cooking dinner tonight, then i think i might try and do 30mins of ironing.

Just a quickie....with the water retention business....does anyone else's hands swell up and give you sausage fingers? I started happening at night a while ago, now my fingers feel swollen most of the day..it makes my joints hurt a little too...not impressed!

anyway, has turned into another mammouth post, if anyone is still reading!! - sorry...labour vibes to all that need them, and hugs to all that want them

I don't think taking them would do any harm, they're in your system to clear up any bruising, there were some days I could just about manage a 5 minute shower, so if using the bath stuff you'd have to make sure you were finding the time to get a good long soak xx
