Hi Helen! I popped you on the list (hope you don't mind). Officially not meant to be here any more but oh well.

May I ask why you won't have to go to 40 weeks? How has the pregnancy been treating you so far? :)

lovely bamama, thank you for that, just read your birth story !.

Queen b, can u order the mattress to be delivered at some family members's house or friend ?

Welcome, Helen, hows your pregnancy so far?

MP, she moves constantly, i dont know if she ever will stop, guess will know by friday (37 wks) if her movements slow down.
I feel tired and teary, also can get very moody for no reason.

My DD goes back to school tomorrow, yayyyyyy !! poor thing hasnt have the best holidays and i feel sad that these are the last holidays she has being an only child. I started to feel sad about it but do not really know why, she is very happy and can not wait for Jade to be born.

Today we had dinner at in laws and they invited a couple, she is 26 wks and as big as me, couldnt believe it, she kept saying that her baby was pressuring her ribs and i was like Ohh yes mine too but baby at 26 wks is not big, is it ? the poor thing thought this is as bad as it gets, complaining of peeing all the time, how big her baby feel ? Sorta like all my symtoms lol...

Thanks for sharing your birth story Bamama, so much detail in there, I'm hoping my labour will go by in a blur, ha! Are you getting settled in at home now?

    Welcome Helen :)

Glad to hear that Rups and Andre are well.

I have been such a pig today, ate masses of chocolate, just can't seem to get enough of it, I don't know what's wrong with me.

Been out for a walk today and got a few bits from Boots, bed protectors to put on the bed in case, some little socks half price. Also noticed that Lanisnoh nipple cream had 1/3 off £6.65, doesn't seem to be available online and is in store only.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

Morocha - we could get it delivered to the inlaws I suppose. From looking around its one that seems to be on offer quite a lot so we are going to hang on, not in any desperate rush. Never thought I'd hear myself say that!

My gosh if that lady is big now how will she manage for another 14 weeks!

Thanks ladies. Most birth stories I read didn't really tell me everything I wanted to know so I tried to put everything I remembered in.

Doesn't look like Rups will be out today. Andre is a little jaundiced and was having a test earlier :(

More newborn vests, I'd say 7 is a good number, it allows for a few nappy accidents, and means you won't be rushing to get your washing done, and dried.

Even now at almost 1, I have about 12-14 for each size, as he uses 2 a day on a normal day, 1 for during the day and then 1 for night. I hate running short and with the winter find it hard to dry stuff :o

Edit: Maybe arnica tablets for yourself for after the birth, one thing I wished I'd gotten x

Evening ladies - been a busy few days here!

Congrats Rups on your son! Hope that you'll soon be home.

Welcome to the next thread helen :)

Hope that we're all well and have had a good weekend?
I had a very busy weekend... well, work for the three days after New Years day - I am counting down the days till I finish work!
So Saturday morning, my friend came round to empty out her spare room - she gave me some baby things that her little one has grown out of: car seat, moses basket and stand, baby bath, temp monitor and some other odds and ends. She also brought her little one round for some play time with me - such fun!
Straight after my friend left, lunch time, we headed over to the inlaws for the afternoon - a large family get together. It was a fantastic afternoon, which extended well into the evening... we eventually left at half 12 (gone midnight!). Got into bed, and my right hip was SO painful I spent the next hour tossing and turning so didn't fall asleep til after half two this morning. Sigh... think it was from sitting for such a long time whilst at the inlaws - maybe?

Anyway, this morning we'd agreed to go shopping to choose our cot and other nursery furniture. Also got some other bits that were on my list; OH got a bit bored as we went round Ikea's baby section, Babies R Us, Mothercare and Kiddicare! The cot and wardrobe/drawers will be delivered in the next week or two but I am much calmer now feeling pretty much ready for baby.

We were looking at some clothes to choose a coming home outfit and OH commented that they looked a little small (0-3month outfit)... I reminded him that baby is currently inside me and will need to get out so please bear that in mind!

Off to bed now for me... have a busy day tomorrow as have a newly qualified new member of staff to start inducting tomorrow... Hopefully will get her nicely settled in before I go on leave.
Night ladies, labour vibes to those who need them and hope we all have a lovely day tomorrow

    Saf xx
