sexymouse - i did try a plastic mattress protector on our bed earlier this year as DH sweats were staining the mattress but only managed one night with it because of the noise it made. the tesco maternity mats sounds useful though, i will prob get some of those as will be useful after the birth as well.

moneypuddle - i cant believe what your friends have gone through with their baby. very brave, i couldnt do that. hope things are less strained between you and DH.

i think guys do have a tendancy to be lazy (my DH, my dad and BIL are all similar) they just dont see things that need doing. i have to admit that DH has been very supportive during my pregnancy and understanding but i have become irritated sometimes with him leaving stuff around the house. now i am on maternity leave i see all the mess during the day and have to clear it up. DH has been busy tidying up the garden today.

silly moo - even if you are induced tomorrow stay positive your birth could still turn out ok. also if they break your waters and nothing happens in an hour they cant force you have the drip - you could ask to wait longer, its your body, your choice.

8 days till due date but i am telling my self i will go over then i wont be too stressed if due date passes. i want to avoid 3rd august though as its my sisters birthday.

DH is pleased that his paternity leave will co-incide with olympics hehe

weighed myself today and have put on 2 stone and 10 pounds, not too worried about this as my shape hasnt changed apart from my massive belly lol

See we have a proper role reversal in my house. DH is amazingly thoughtful and generous most of the time. He'd gladly do everything and not ask me to do anything. Unfortunately I'm lazy and ungrateful. I'm trying my best to change though. And I try and tell him how much I appreciate things he does for me, and put more of an effort to do the simple things I know I can do.

So I can't really join in the men are just like that thing, because I'm like that and my DH isn't. I know we aren't the norm though.

    welcome alamaya

Glad you had a good time Emsbet cant believe you managed a night club i am exhausted this wkend and havnt done much.

Twinkle im with you, although i do try and do alot OH is always cooking, cleaning and looking after me so cant complain about men at all. just had a lovely slow cooked gammon and salad all cooked and preped by OH and he has done the washing up and tidied the kitchen.

well i have been exhausted and starting to feel the strain of the last stages of pregnancy. I have got work for 2 more wks and then mat leave from 36wks with a visit to the birthing unit and the mothercare event too during that wk so hopefully time will go quickly now.

Massive labour vibes to all you boldies, i do feel for you now the weather has got so warm.

  • Hi all!

Sillymoo good luck for tomorrow. Remember it's your decision what interventions you have, they can't force you into anything. But exciting to know that things will be happening tomorrow :)
Emsbet glad you had a good time away. Hope your feet go down soon. Sound painful :(
Hugs to all those having probs with their OHs. My OH is very understanding, I guess I'm very lucky. Although he does need very clear instructions lol. Rups your washing thing make me laugh. I was struggling to bend to put the washing in so got told off by OH and I left him to it. So we popped out and when we came home I went to hang it up etc. well he hadn't put it on! He said I didn't ask him to turn it on  good job I love him, what a plonker! But he's always telling me to sit down and not lift a finger, although he doesn't have time to do everything and has different priorities eg mowing the lawn incase people think we're not house proud. Well he'd better not invite them indoors cos its a mess!

Moneypuddle and katyLiz didn't get anything at the car boot. We've tons of nb, 0-3 and quite a lot of 3-6 so was looking for 6-9 upwards. Like you said it'll save money later when bubs is here and money will be tighter. But OH thinks we have way too many and wasn't keen on me looking. The down side of him pushing the wheelchair I guess :( but I went into town and got lots of random bits for my hospital bag, those tea tablets and the iron supplement someone recommended, sorry I forget who :o

Chaos has erupted here this afternoon. To cut the long story short our downstairs toilet has had like black rot behind the toilet for weeks and in the last couple of weeks mushrooms have been growing! I'm not kidding you, I was getting quite worried as obviously there's dampness there. But was told by my OH not to worry. Well I get woken up from my nap to the news his dad has come over and they're going to have to rip tiles off to get to a leak etc. I was not impressed, so my of nagging/worrying were right after all! Telling a tired, painful hormonal pregnant woman that the bathroom is to ripped to pieces hours before her sister and niece are due to arrive is not a good idea! They've now decided that they can reach the leak without trashing the house....actually I've given up listening to them now. I'm perusing the local Chinese menu thinking what to have for tea :)

Seems another weekend of emptying the nursery has gone past :( anyone know of a nice young hunky man I can hire to be my muscle ;)

Sending hugs to all those who need them and big labour vibes to the boldies xxxx

If you find one (young hunky man that is) LMM let me know, as I could do with some help with mine too.

Pleased to hear you had a nice weekend emsbet.

Well we're back from Southampton, and got the Malm chest of drawers that we wanted. Was good to be able to look at them all in person, as I realised that if we do decide against a changing table that the 4-drawer version would've been far too high for me to change Bean's nappy on, so we've gone for the 3-drawers. We were also able to see some of the other supposedly white chest of drawers, and some were most definitely cream rather than white. Moon has gone out for an hour to his shooting club, so won't be able to put them up tonight, but I'm hoping he'll be able to do them tomorrow evening, as I'd planned to wash the clothing etc tomorrow to make the most of the nice weather.

Sorry to hear you're rowing with OH moneypuddle - Moon and I had an argument in Ikea's carpark as I couldn't hold the trolley still when he was trying to load it as it was hurting my tummy muscles, and I saw another couple who were arguing too over similar things - there were loads of pregnant ladies in there today.

Managed to get the cotton wool pads in Waitrose this morning (3for2), and the lansinoh lanoline cream in Sainsbugs, but realised when I got home that the maternity towels are no longer winged as they indicate on mysupermarket, so was a bit peaved about that as this was one of the reasons I thought they'd be good. Also got a pair of baby hats in Asda in Southampton, but couldn't find the grape nut flakes. MissMonkeyMoo where do you buy yours? They also didn't have the tommee tippee breast pads, so will have to pay a trip to a more local Asda sometime this week instead.

Well I'd best go and put the 2 loads of washing away that I hung out on the line today (yay for sunny weather at last :) ). Got a yummy balsamic onion and cheddar tart from Waitrose that had been reduced for dinner to go with some salad, but won't be eating until Moon gets back. Casualty at 8.10pm so looking forward to that as it was quite dramatic last night.

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

    sexymouse xx

moneypenny you could always order it online and get it delivered - don't know if this is cost effective for you or not, as they do the delivery based on postcodes, but it's worth a look if it'll placate your OH. My Mum and Dad just had a bookcase delivered to them, and they've put it up and it looks fab, but I think the delivery for that was only £15 as they were fairly local to Ikea. It's nearly an hour's drive for us too.
