Quick question. Plug... if it's coming away in bits, is it always bloody or is it sort of like the stuff that comes out of your nose when you get a bad cold?

Mine looked like gooie red snot with a 'clot' in the middle. Took a photo of it to show the mw last Weds whilst I was contracting - wanna see?? Only kidding ;)

Lol mlbarrett. Thanks but I'll pass on the piccy :P
  • This cold is so bad I think I've lost my mucus plug via my nose :rotfl:

Feeling a wee bit better so hopefully the antibiotics are kicking in. Just making the most of sleep whilst I still can. Feeling a bit more confident that I might be better soon!

Pea - will they go another fluid drain or just induce you?

Off for another sweep today, again not expecting it to work but would be nice to see if any things changed down there as it will give me a better idea of which method they will induce me by. Based on how it was last week it willbe a pessary but a miracle might have occurred over the weekend & I might have become favourable for then to break my waters..unlikely though! :rotfl:

some of the things showing in your urine such as glucose can be from things you've eaten, between seeing your midwife and the triage midwife that will have passed from your system so no longer showing in your urine. Also it's possible that your wee sample became contaminated. This could be something as simple as you having soap residue on your lady place when doing the sample, to the container you collected your sample being in not being sterile. Happened to me a few times. As long as you don't have any symptoms of things such as pre-eclampsia etc then there's nothing to worry about. If your midwife was worried she would have asked you to do a mid-stream urine collection and sent it off to be tested. SO STOP WORRYING lol x

Or when they send stuff to our local hospital to be tested - they usually manage to spill the bottles of pee in transit leading to the worrying "we need you to do a new sample there was a problem with the last one" phonecall from the doctors' surgery (had this a few times). They managed to lose my rubella test results from the start of last pregnancy completely as well and no one noticed until after she was born!

    Afternoon all

Rups32 I've had urine samples that had something in them one day and nothing the next, I think that's just what happens. Oh and for things starting once I've had contractions... not likely with me - had them on and off for a month now - I think poor womb is very confused with all the belly getting bigger and smaller! So glad people aren't texting me yet about 'any news' - everyone knows I have EDD of 31/12 - only family know about Wednesday (and you guys!) makes it much easier I think.

moneypenny :rotfl: poor you guys with colds, DH just gone to bed with one I sooooo don't want it. Think I'm being started off with pessary too, but you never know it might start before then! No more draining, just going down induction route now.

Feeling restless, lots I should be doing but distracted by thought of Wednesday!

Right, will draw up a 'to do' list and then focus on that to keep me going...

Hi everyone, hope you are all OK.I haven't logged in this weekend as it was our last weekend as a single couple so we had lots and lots of quality time together.

Congratulation to all the ladies who gave birth recently.

GISI any advice will.do especially about recovery.

Can't believe tomorrow I'll give birth.Very very happy lady.

Thank you for all the wishes ladies

    Hope it's gone well, Hun.

Best advice is take it as easy as you can, don't try and be super woman. Also take the pain relief that they offer you as it does help to keep on top of the pain rather than let it get bad. Can't wait to hear how it's all gone.

do you know i just thought of this! when i went to see the midwife on wed, my urine showed trace of glucose, and protein and those white blood cells. then i was went off to labour ward and in the evening when the midwives in the triage took my wee sample and tested it, they said it was all clear! so what the hell happened there? is that possible? i was thinking about that and wondered hope it doesnt show up when i least expect it and i dont know about it until too late? you know?

Rups, lovey, only you could worry when you're actually told your wee sample is OK :D

The body is a strange thing - it does unpredictable things. Only worry when the doctors look worried.

yes my darling fluff.. think staying at home is doing me worse even though i should rest and get rid of this stupid cold. well today have been wound up about people asking me about any news!! for gods sake let me reach my duedate at least!! i think ignoring isthe best policy and once little one is here i will let them know. i never did that to anyone. grrr

    ok am calm. lol..

so went out to the post office and met a friend for late lunch. that was nice to keep me distracted and not worry. :p It took me agggges to walk there with my friend and posted millions of cards. I have hated doing them this year. then went to my local cafe and had a lovely lunch of omlette and chips with a large mug of tea and then apple pie and custard. am stuffed. backs hurting as walked back and now feel a bit weird. thought the walk would do me good. backs sore and little ones moving a bit. still feel eww from the cold. healthy lunch though hey? haha

now am going to chill and then wash my hair if i can be bothered later.. lol.
