Bought a new moses basket today (old one's right up at the in-laws and it's going to be hard to get it down in advance and I'm panicking about not having everything sorted ridiculously early after having one preemie)... and mothercare had some lovely stuff in their sale I couldn't justify buying since I've got a 1 1/2 foot high pile of newborn girls' clothes (not all ones I bought last time - lots and lots of hand me downs as well)... so I bought big sis a new pair of pyjamas with a giraffe on (she likes giraffes - usually to chew their ears and horns mind) instead - since babygros really don't work well with a child on the 91st centile who outgrows the arms and legs within weeks! (I ditched babygros at about the 3-6 month stage with her in favour of PJs - much easier on the brain not trying to figure out matching poppers up at 3am!)

At my consultant meeting at 28 weeks where they said the baby might come early I totally panicked too! I can understand why you feel that way. We got my hospital bag packed that weekend and my sister kindly dug out all her baby gros etc., but we didn't buy anything new as we weren't sure when the baby would 'pop out'.

But now we're at 38 weeks (tomorrow - yey) things feel a bit more secure. I've created a shopping list of stuff to get (I don't want to get too much yet as I still feel nervous due to baby having op when born) . Baby will be in hospital for about 10 days and I thought having some shopping to go out and do might make us a) leave the hospital for 5 seconds and b) have something positive to do for planning to come home. Shopping list is online - everything price checked - very OCD!!!

I've had contractions on and off all day with constant period pains, but nothing consistent - but night-time is approaching so you never know! Would be good to start off natural rather than induced on Wednesday, but I guess next week I'll have a baby either way!!!

aida good luck for tomorrow sweety.:) now everyone is moving along the list and soon it will you and then me bamama. sorry that the walking etc didnt help hon. i m surprised you can walk around. i am really finding it hard now. what is wrong with me? maybe tomorrow i need to walk to the post office and post some cards and walk as i think i havent been doing enough.:(

hope everyone is fine. had a good day. bit of a lie in with the usual loo breaks. got up got ready and went to the in laws for an xmas lunch. was nice but i just sat out of everyones way and just felt tired. didnt even do much. lol. back now and tired still. struggling to walk again and feel so weird down there. right side of pelvic/groin still hurting.. think the next few days might be painful. wanted a hair cut as well so not sure how i will do that.. hmmm

thanks for the advise on the head being engaged sweeties. i thought it had to be fully engaged for us to give birth. think i am at that stage now like dh where i think ok i am actually ready now...whatevers meant to happen will happen and i should freak out lol. quick question.1!! i always worry about my areas being shaved etc so when one is in early labour, all that is possible right? i want my lady garden tidy and want to know if it is possible to have that sort of stuff done when contractions are quite far apart? thanks.x:)

Thanks for the sympathy Pea. Guess baby is comfy/not ready yet. Gotta make tge effort to get off my behind though.

Rups, trust me it's not easy walking around. It's worn me out now. Figured sitting on my !!!! wasn't gonna get gravity working on my side though. I don't have a ball or anything... maybe if you don't have the energy to walk you could sit on yours for a bit or something?
On the fuzz front... I'd assume it's possible to have a tidy up if you feel able to do it. I wouldn't worry too much though. Don't think the midwife will complain :P
