awh mushy, hope you are as prepared as you can be. when is the induction? I dont know i have heard negative things about it and yes it could be unnatural, however how long more can you wait when overdue? its surely not good for the baby is it as the placenta stops performing well which is why they said to be induced? like you said at least you know what is happening. with me i still wonder, how will it all start? will we get to hosp ok? etc etc. hehe..
cold is still here. thanks for asking. stupid thing wont go. dh said i should take some brandy and i was like ermm no..Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Been reading up today about the NICU Walnut will go into once born, few tears because it's a bit scary but at least we're prepared and know to expect it. Must be more of a shock going into premature labour and then baby being sent there.
They're not the nicest places on earth - but they're not the worst either... the beeping's probably the worst bit (there's always some machine beeping somewhere) and they're normally quieter than you'd expect in terms of a room full of babies (preemies generally are pretty quiet, sleepy creatures)... and the chairs in ours were flipping uncomfortable on your backside - but ours gave you a swipe card to come and go on the unit as you pleased so you could visit anytime (I used to be down there at 4-5 am a lot - was better than being stuck on the maternity ward with mummies and their newborns).
To be honest (and our NICU behaved appallingly towards me so I don't have any rose-tinted glasses of gratitude towards them) the staff there were much much nicer than the ones on the transitional care ward when she left the unit!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I'm feeling very sorry for myself tonight. OH has gone out for xmas drinks and I am led on the sofa full of a cold and ear ache that I've had since last night
I feel smothered in it.
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
poor you mrshwarth.hugs.. i am the same as you, full of germs and been sorry for myself all week. i was even sending dh stupid messages during the week as i was being silly and irrational and hormonal. i hope you are ok sweety., try and get some rest (says me). lol. i have to tell dh sometimes that i a m not like him and when i am ill, i prefer someone looking after me esp now as we are preg as well. some men dont get it.try and get some hot drinks and cover up with a nice duvet.
i wasnt sure if we are allowed to use any vicks vabo rub but i used it on my chest last night and it def has helped with some nose stuff as my nose was so runny. i woke with a cough but today i feel a bit more better in terms of breathing. maybe try that too. i asked the midwife whether we are allowed strepsils etc and she said of course we are. i get so confused with one person saying or someone saying the other. i am glad i used vicks though. not like i ate it hey? lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Rups I had been told not to use vics but I did a lot of research and couldn't see that it caused any harm in small doses. As I've suffered from congestion and poorly sinuses throughout pregnancy I put a bit of the end of my nose every night so I can breathe. On a few occasions I have put a smidge on my chest and I used it to steam inhale (small amount) last week as after 3 days of a thumping headache and nothing touching it I was throughly fed up. So I reckon we'll live
Mrshawoth2b - sorry to here you are feeling naff. I hope you have you feet up and relaxing as much as you can when feeling carp.
Thank you to the ladies who posted about induction, it's great to hear that all experiences are not negative.
Been reading on the iPad all night and had it rested on the top of my bump and baby has been kicking it all night,
Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday night.
No word from Bamama over the past couple of days?? Hope you are ok?I :heart2: saving money0 -
i waa just going to ask about bamama as we chat on here and fb quite a bit.. hmm she hasnt gone into labour has she? lol... i saw her post something on FB earlier on so she may be around.. have messaged her before i saw this.
QueenB i read the leaflet too and wondered why we cant use it? it just said to check with doc so i was thinking i a mnot waiting to make a stupid appoitnemt to ask that so i smeared quite a bit on my chest last night ans it def helped. was thinking about it tonight too and then will stop. i mean what really can it do?if we are allowed to sniff olbas (which i dont have), whats wrong with vicks?
still feeling a lot of pressure down below.. so am wondering whether my little pumpkin is getting ready. 9 days for me left.am getting mentally ready to meet bubs now.. he/she is moving right now inside me.
we earlier went to sing some carols in a local pub and i sang or two. I am sure the baby could hear others singing and was quiet but when i sang, it was moving. lol.

I'm not sure what the difference between olbas and vics, think it may be to do with olbas being an oil and it can be easily ingested in the system?? Confession time, I have sniffed olbas as well a couple of times whilst being pregnant when i was told this was a massive no no from the GP. I can understand why they say not many medicines are safe as they are not tested on women but surely a bit of common sense can prevail and use of certain medications in small doses is ok.
I would definetly put some vics on tonight Rups if it helped you last night.
Sounds like baby was having a good time at carol singing. I bet baby went quiet when you were singing Rups as you were soothing it as bubs will have recognised your voice.
Wonder if the pressure is baby engaging? I get tones of pressure but I think mine is due to PGP rather than baby wanting to make an appearance, it's far too early yet!I :heart2: saving money0 -
I hope baby wasnt telling me to shut up indirectly then as it was moving when i sang and quiet when others sang. lol.. bless it.. I took it as a positive that it recognises me.
hehe
i wonder what the pressure is as well? I def cant walk properly today and the right pelvis side and groin area hurt, so who knows? I as told baby is 3/5 engaged. whatever that means, so not fully there. i dont know. i tried sitting on a gym ball but it didnt help. had some icecream a while ago lol.. baby seems to be blowing some kind of bubbles in my belly way down below. are getting palpitations normal too. i get fast heart beat here and there at times. lol..Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I'm still here. Shouldn't go awol with a week to go.
Had a bad day. Topped off by the current stabbing pains in my crotch. Is this the fanny daggers everyone talks about? Either way I can't sit down and am struggling to tell if the pains and tightenings I'm getting are baby moving or BH (not had them before) or the start of the real thing.
Typically everyone seems to have logged off.0 -
finally i can log on now.. but i am sure everyone is in bed which is where i should be but now i am fully wide awake. grrr.. think will try in a bit and go off to bed as have to head to the in laws tomorrow.
thanks for that moneypenny.. yest i got fed up and thought this cold is getting to me so i will try vicks and will do tonight, aghhh.. we are suffering as it is and not having to take the normal stuff we can take is hard enough as it is.
been an uncomfy day. lets see how it istomorrow. not comfy in bed at all as well. feel like i have done some sort of thigh exercises where the inner thighs/groin area hurts? i surely hope baby is moving into position and by the time i have my 40 week appointment, i have had bubs. dont want to go back to the gp again now..
little one is moving at the mo and with some movements, my back is hurting. ouch..
well i better shush up now. good night ladies. xxBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
