    Morning all

I've been awake since 5 am - contractions and period like pain and pelvis OUCH. Bit of a wobble, but hubby has been wonderful looking after me. Took some painkillers the hospital gave me - they're good stuff - now just feel a bit woozy and edge taken off everything :) Happy for Walnut to wait till at least tonight before more serious things start so doctors etc. around on Monday! But, I've had contractions on and off for quite a few weeks so could be another false alarm. Wish I could sleep though - I think we all sound a bit tired!

dizziblonde thanks for heads up about NICU - gosh not great they weren't nice to you :( I know what you mean about going there rather than maternity ward, when I was hospitalised the other day I was a bit jealous of all the mums wheeling their babies around when I know I won't be able to do that straight away.

Oh Bamama, thought of you this morning when I shouted 'owwww these must be fanny daggers' which my DH found hysterical! How you feeling now?

    Aida good luck for tomorrow!

Have good days all! Pea x

Lol Pea! Not fussed on being associated with fanny daggers but at least you're thinking of me :) x

I'm good. Gonna go to a local market this morning... soon as OH stops counting his change! Might get the baby to drop down, plenty of pressure and find the exit XD
  • Contracts bezzyk, gives me hope that babies can be early! Hope Oliver is responding well to the anti b and you will all be safely home soon x

Ha ha to fanny daggers Banama and mushy, i also get them esp when been walking around and they really are painful... however be good if they were a sign of things stating to move and baby getting ready. I am so excited, i feel ready, the house is ready, the bags are ready ( finally!!) I want this baby to arrive, it is hard to travel myself there are potentially 4 more weeks of this!

Hope you are all OK today and managed to sleep, i seem to be awake between 5 to 7 but then manage another couple of hours which makes me much nicer to be around :D

Sadly not - none of mine have engaged until labour - including the 2 inductions (first was 13 days overdue!)

To all those worrying about inductions - please stop :)
I have had 2 out of my 3 babies and survived them both with smiles by the time baby has arrived :)
I appreciate it is not a natural process but all that matters at the end of the day is that you and baby are ok. It is NOT an option for some people and can lead to extra problems if not done. Some people have the option to refuse an induction but many people do not -myself included in that one. I will most likely be induced again with baby number 4, and will follow the medical advice given on this so that my baby arrives safely :)

Induced labours are sometimes a faff to get going, and I have been allowed to move around/go off for a walk after I have been induced both times - so its not always a case of being strapped to a monitor for the whole time - particularly when its not your first baby. I like using a birthing ball and they have always enabled me to, even with the monitoring. They do monitor baby a lot more during an induction and I have spent part of all 3 of my labours strapped up - and one of them was natural - so it can happen in any labour.

Only my first birth was horrendous for me and baby and looking back after having had 2 more babies, I can see that was entirely due to the care I received and the MW's looking after me - it was totally unrelated to the induction. By the time I had my second I was more than prepared to stand my ground in hospital and make my own decisions :) Labour number 2 and 3 were sooo different to the first, and as I am now on number 4, they can't have been that bad!! :rotfl: Some people I know have had fantastic first labours and nightmare ones afterwards - sometimes it really is just down to the staffing at the time you are in hospital!

So good luck to all those ladies with babies that are due soon (via whatever method!!) We would all like the perfect birth but sometimes that doesn't happen - but when baby is here, believe me it all becomes a distant memory!! :T
