Marta, ML - go on, the date is waiting ;)

Jonno - any news? (nevermind, just spotted your earlier post, missed it somehow!)
Hope things get moving for you (if they decide you don't need 'inducing' tomorrow as you're in early labour do you think they'll let you go home?). I have another attempt at a sweep tomorrow and will find out the induction procedure then. Not looking forward to it....

As for me, no twinges or anything and no more plug. More acupuncture later. At least I tried ;)

Savage, have you tried nipple stimulation? I tried it yesterday, I found it uncomfortable and I also felt silly but maybe it did something for me?

Mushy - Has your midwife or anyone at the hospital spoken to you about how you might feel about leaving Walnut (cute name!) in the hospital whilst you come home? Sure they must have some support in place for new parents - they might be able to help you get through it. I'm sorry you have to go through it :( Walnut does sound very lovely already though :)

Thanks moneypenny21, no my midwife has left us to it really because we're under a consultant and there's been no discussion about what happens when I go home :( But I've found a group on FBook for the NICU at the hospital so I'm going to contact people there for some advice :) Thank you for saying Walnut is a cute name :D

Too many "M" names... getting confused. Here's what I remember...

mlbarrett hope you're ok. Sorry you didn't get much sleep with the contractions but it'll be worth it when baby is here.

Marta I'd give the mw a ring even if she's coming today.

savage stubborn baby you have there :)

Pea I couldn't imagine having to leave baby in the hospital. I'm glad you found some support. You're always welcome back here to talk it over with us... and you'll be able to go to the newborn thread and chat there too! Nice big support system here for you *hugs*

Rups good luck at the MW's. Don't over do it today! x

Afm, I went back to bed at 4. May have drifted off a little before OH's alarm went off at half 6. Went out like a light then. Got up at 12. Not impressed :(

Yes, bamama, I was fine, I stay up until around that time everyday, I'm in bed but read the news, check the email, play sudoku, etc; until I fall sleep.

Quick question: with tmi!!! I have some bleeding, when I wiped this morning I had something similar to pre-period spotting but maybe not as liquid, thicker. Is this it? I don't have contractions, how soon in advance do you usually get this?

How exciting, sounds like it could be the start of something. I would think the MW would still want to do a sweep as that might be enough to kick off contractions if you're on your way anyway. Good luck at your appointment.

Might get the date. Contracting all night, with bloody show and now loss of plug.

    It's flipping painful...

Exciting! :j Hope you manage to get some rest and that things progress nice and swiftly for you.

I had my consultant appointment today and have been booked in for an ELCS on Friday morning. I am so excited, I just cannot wait to meet my baby! I saw a MW first, who really tried to push me into agreeing to try induction first, but the consultant did an internal examination and said that his recommendation was to go straight for a section as I was showing none of the signs of being anywhere near labour. Overall disappointed to miss out on a VBAC, but very pleased to have a section date so close.

  • Hi All,

This is all starting to feel real for me hearing how close you all are....I'm only 20 weeks today but thought I would pop in and say hi.

I have just started feeling kicks in the last couple of days so I can start to beleive that I get a take home baby this time :j

Good Luck to everyone that needs it! :T
