  • Evening ladies,
Sorry I just disappeared yesterday, my friend came round to try and cheer me up... Then my mother in law popped in to do the same- she took some of my washing home with her. She is lovely, I'm lucky to have such wonderful in laws!
We then had our NHS antenatal class and straight after that had my works Christmas party! Was a busy evening and I felt tired, but just couldn't sleep last night.
Today I had to force myself out of bed to take my mum to the eye hospital, then I indulged in a bit of retail therapy. Bought some Christmas presents and also some new leggings and a couple of new maternity tops. I know I've not got long to go, but don't want to feel fat and frumpy for the rest of the pregnancy.
Tonight we've just been to an NCT antenatal class.

Hugs to all the people that have had rubbish days, hopefully a sleep will mean you wake up feeling better tomorrow.

Good luck to all the boldies, for those with apts, sweeps and inductions booked... Think we are going to have an influx of babies soon!

I can't believe how short the list is now... When I joined the thread I was in the 80's... Now it starts in the 50's!

Tomorrow I have a day of cleaning planned... And I mean deep cleaning- windows, carpets, curtains the lot... I'm setting myself a goal of 1 room a day, giving it a thorough sort out and clean. Bathroom tomorrow, and possibly a start on the bedroom... I sound anal don't I?! Can I put it down to nesting??!

Just a quick question ladies... I don't think I've had any braxton hicks yet, but just recently every time I go to bed and lie down I get period type pains and it sometimes makes the top of my legs hurt. Does anyone else get this? Could this be braxton hicks? When I touch my tummy I don't feel any tightenings... But if I'm honest I'm not sure I'd be able to tell anyway cos my tummy is constantly solid!

Anyway, enough waffle from me. Sorry if there are any typos.. I've tried this post on my phone!

    Love and hugs to all

    Me (34weeks) x

elisabeth all that cleaning you have to do? gosh.. i feel quite lazy.. no nesting instinct here and am planning to call on the cleaner to help out. today just doing the xmas tree and unpacking amazon boxes did it for me. :( then walking around with a rock solid belly that is so umcomfy and this stupid cold, is just draining me. :( wow i rate you though..:) xx

hotbern, this is my first bubba and i know i have posted on here many tmes, but i do worry about the unknown and the pain etc.. have to find a way of filtering the fear out of my head. have a hypnobirth thing on my mp3 to try to listen to about positive birth so have to listen to that more. maybe you could try that too? it seems to work a lot for people on here. i wish i could say dont be nervous but i am too. :(

Wow, that's a late joining hotbern!!! :) welcome!!

I'm also posting from phone, it usually means I get random full stops between words and some odd autocorrections!

Morocha, I hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Braxton hicks, apparently they feel different for every woman, some people feel pain, some people do not. I'm not sure I had them, unless it is this cramping I.occasionally ferl. For what I understood, BH stop if you change position or walk, contractions do not.

My best buys in maternity clothing have been some mothercare jersey/cotton trousers at £20. They are very comfy, stretchy, with a big over bump band that can be put up.or.left down. I have them in grey and black, great to be around the house and the black one.is also good to go out. I had leggings but my legs keep expanding, swelling and retaining liquid, so all the ones I bought a couple of months ago are now too tight. I cannot even wear socks without my feet swelling and getting marks.all over them! I have only.a few maternity t-shirts, I bought normal tunics, big tops, long tops, mini dresses to wear with trousers, etc; with the intention of wearing them afterwards too. I have three maternity jeans but two of them are now small and the third one feels also uncomfortable despite being the right size, I'm comfy only with those stretchy mothercare ones. I can only wear some flat pumps I bought recently half a size bigger than my usual size.I cannot wait to lose some of the liquid in my legs, the tiniest pressure makes the skin go white and pale and my feet look as if they were hiding a small cushion under the skin!!! I get marks all over them as if my clothes were too tight, even just from putting a blanket over them!!

Having some more light cramping, feelings in the cervix and baby movement. I didn't really wanted to go for the sweep tomorrow but it seems nothing is moving, so maybe it's a good idea.

Rups, if your DH is in provider mood, and you can afford it, call that cleaner. Nothing wrong with that. His mum might have looked after 4 boys whilst her husband worked, that also means that she didn't work or had any other responsibility like student loans and so on. You are different, times are different and now many couples share household duties, both financial and chores duties. He cannot compare you to his mum. I had that problem with my ex's mum, she would do everything even if she were very ill. He didn't know any different and assumed that was the way. Very annoying. Anyway, somebody said before that "just don't do it" if you cannot do it. If he doesn't want to do it either, he can pay for the cleaner!!! :)

Thank you for the advice on being careful on this slippery weather, I forgot the username and I cannot see it now on the phone, sorry!! I hope you didn't hurt yourself much and you are ok, I bet the shock and the worry must have been big!!
    Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

    13/12/2012, baby girl!!!

Never again am I attempting that list while on my phone, didn't want you missing out on being on it though hotbern!

You're up late marta. Feeling ok? I stayed on the settee as OH said he was coming up to read... and I fell asleep! Was there an hour before something woke me. OH is fast asleep but now I can't go back to sleep.
