Good luck, savage, I hope it works for you too. I've been bleeding and having intense cramps since, I keep my fingers crossed!

Queenb, not sure what you mean, do you mean the bump is pulsating? The cervix? Your heart? I had occasionally felt dizziness and palpitations, but they were all ok and due to change in blood pressure or being on my back. I felt sometimes like pressure on the cervix and pulsations down there. Apparently it's also normal and can be triggered by lack of hydration. They stopped when I drank more water. Other feelings I had were baby hiccups, I'd put my hand on top and I'd feel like very fast and gentle kicks, almost once a second for quite a long time, minutes even.

    13/12/2012, baby girl!!!
  • Bamama - mine feel too rapid to be hiccups too, it's a very strange sensation for sure. It doesn't happen all the time, will report back if I do find out what isn't is.

    FX sweep works tomorrow Savage.

Hope labour starts progressing for you Marta.

They are very low down so would probably say cervix? I think it could be dehydration as I haven't been drinking as much these last few days especially in the evenings as I can't stop peeing. Will up my fluids and see if it calms down.

Sweep appointment tomorrow again... so we'll see what gives then. *sigh*. Hopefully she can do a sweep this time, last time cervix wasn't playing along.

Hi savage. Hope your second sweep is more successful than mine, she couldn't really do anything again. So off for induction tomorrow. No HB for me, hope there is still time for you :D labour vibes to all :)
  • Exciting stuff, good luck for tomorrow Jonno!

    hello ladies.. am back.:)

it was a false alarm but it was better to have it checked out as the midwife had said. was a bit of a wait and had my bo checked and it went up because i was anxious. Think DH was hoping this was it. :) but sadly for him it wasnt.

did another wee sample for them which came all clear so have no idea what happend to the pot that i gave to the midwife today at 2? then they put that horrid speculum in me to check for leaks and all was ok.. so back to waiting. :)

today belly got felt by 3 midwives in total and it was quite painful with them squeezing. was told bubs has a big bum.. oh well takes after me then! :p

tired and drained now. in a way managed to calm myself down and thought if this is it then ths is it. sadly not. made my 40 week appointment to see the GP so if i still havent had bubs by then, i am to ask for a sweep. ewwww..

hope you all are ok. good luck jonno and savage and marta. hope you are all ok..

just want to go to bed but feel this cold will keep me up again. :(

I'll ask my midwife about it Friday Queen_B :)

Glad you aren't jumping the queue Rups. Nice to hear that you didn't freak out too much. Told you... take it as it comes ini? :)

I had to express from my other boob just now. It was in agony! Seems like quite a lot of milk to me. Thought first milk was only meant to be a small amount?

Edit - just noticed the other boob has leaked on my top!
  • Glad all is okay Rups. Just popped back on to see if you had updated!

I take it we had no 12/12/12 babies in the end then? Oh well, lots still to come over the next few days then.

  • Just wanted to pop in to say I have a birth announcement! Oscar Jack was born 12/12/12 at 08.17am weighing 7lb exactly. Had the strangest labour EVER. His birth was honestly like something out of a film or soap opera!

Yesterday I was advised to take a mild laxative by my midwife due to constipation. At 2am, I woke up with severe stomach cramps which I thought was a result of the laxative. I got in the bath at 3am and the cramps seemed to die down at about 4am. Half an hour later I am doubled over in pain pacing around my hallway and bathroom, I was too nervous to move away from the loo just in case. Now bear in mind, these cramps were very low down and my stomach was not tightening as you expect from contractions so I didn't think anything of it. At 6am I was sobbing and pleading with anyone to take the pain away. I called my mum at 7am begging for help who finally said "uh don't you think you could be in labour?" Oh no, said I, I was certain that the pains were progressing far too fast to be labour for a first time mum. At this time, my boyfriend had decided he was taking me to hospital anyway because he felt even if it was stomach cramps I was clearly in need of medical treatment.

As this was all going on, I realised I needed the toilet FINALLY! Only for my mucus plug to shoot out of me like a bullet from a gun and my waters breaking everywhere. I remember yelling at my partner "I AM in labour after all!" and him having to get me dressed while running around looking for his shoes and bizarrely cleaning up because the cats had knocked curry sauce onto the carpet. I was screaming at him to bloody leave it and call the taxi. We get in the taxi and start timing the cramps, which realise now were full blown contractions and I realise they're two minutes apart I I need to push NOW. The taxi driver is FREAKING OUT, I'm screaming and crying and my boyfriend is unsuccessfully trying to calm me down. The taxi driver was a saviour, we got stuck in traffic and he ran through three red lights and overtook a whole line of traffic honking his horn the whole way. He got us to the hospital but they've removed the emergency entrance to the delivery suite. Now if it wasn't for some kind stranger letting us in through a side door, I swear I would have had this baby on the car park. I never would have made it the long way round! By the time I got to triage I knew I needed to push. I remember the midwife being like "oh this is your first, it's probably not time, don't worry" and then checking me and going "oh wow you weren't wrong, you're fully dilated and baby is crowning!".

I got into hospital at 8am and he was born with NO pain relief at all at 08.17am. I'm not going to say it was easy, I did get a rather nasty tear and I felt completely underprepared because of how quick it all went but I'm glad I had the birth I did. There was no time to focus on the pain, I just had to deal with it.

I'm the biggest wimp in the world and I was planning on an epidural as I thought my pain threshold was way lower than it actually is. I really surprised myself and my whole family. I'm the girl who moans in pain with blood tests!

I'm feeling very tired but pleased as punch. Oscar is doing so well aside from feeding issues which are down to him having a lot of fluid in his stomach due time the fast labour. Can't wait to get my boy home now!
