Have been unable to sleep. Came down to watch tv as I was disturbing OH. Gonna go up now and try and get some sleep.
Wanted to share a little something first. My boob was hurting so I rubbed it. Noticed it was sore and a little lumpy... kept rubbing and I started to leak. As I've mentioned before... I've been leaking since about 15 weeks. Anyway... I was leaking so I got some kitchen roll. I've soaked the sheet and have now stopped dripping pol. never had that much before. Do you think it could be a sign?
No doubt I'll be back soon x0 -
On visiting, my hospital allows two people during the birth, so it would not matter wether the main door is closed or not, but then afterwards only DH can stay 10am-8pm, the rest have a couple of hours in the afternoon and a couple in the evening, or so. In any case, I told.everyone only DH.will be allowed in because I wrote so in the birth plan..., so no one has suggested it again. I also keep telling people that idk how the birth will be if I'll need intervention or if I'll have to stay, have bed rest at home etc. I've painted it a bit "maybe you come and visit and I cannot get out of bed or I have bed rest ", so people who would visit and expect to be entertained have said they'll come after a few weeks, people who are happy to help around won't be an issue.
I have not leaked at all yet , I think it depends for each.woman, some produce milk before and others have to wait a few days after the birth to get a proper supply.
I'm quite tired today, still have that thick creamy discharge, I'm guessing it is part of the plug, because it's different from the previous discharge, which was mainly white and watery, but I do not know now, it's been slowly coming out for the last 3 days. It's a cream or light custard colour, any experiences???Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

quick question ladies.. have you got baby slings yet? just remembered that may need one. also is anyone getting those cloths to cover you when you breastfeed? I am kind of shy about breastfeeding in public so will cover myself. lol.
I was given a breastfeeding cloth thingy, but also think that a normal shawl or big scarf should work. And as you get better at it it's not obvious at all even in normal clothes.0 -
Wow savage Youre really lucky, where abouts in the country do you live? If I was to go 12 days over, even if I refused the induction they 'recommend' the midwifes wouldn't attend a home birth as that's the limit
so if they'll let you go to 43 and have HB that's great
Off today for monitoring / scan / sweep. Fingers crossed
Then later more acupuncture....0 -
OH's mother has said she will be coming down to the hospital as soon as I'm in. I know they lock the main doors at 10pm and I'd have to go in via the accident unit (it's not an A+E dept). Not sure she'd be allowed to do so? The hopital I'm going to is small and has a midwife led birth centre.0

Night to everyone. Just wanted to leave a question for the morning...
What are your views on "visiting"?

As others have said, most hospitals allow two birthing partners but I doubt they would just let her 'pop in' while you're actually in labour. After the birth everyone except DH (your own children) are bound by visiting hours My DS was born at 4:45am and no visitors were allowed until 2pm, which is actually nice since it gave me time to rest and get cleaned up. It also protects your privacy a bit from other people's visitors on the ward (and some people seem to have a lot of visitors). Personally I had my parents, in-laws, my grandparents and friends visit me at various times while I was in and it was lovely to see them. As long as the don't outstay their welcome then I think visitors can be a nice boost :
Just waiting for the MW to come and attempt a sweep. What a treat :rotfl: fingers crossed for some cervix action ladies!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hello everyone, so many overdue ladies !... just keep relaxing and treating yourself, your babies will be here soon.
I have not posted much this week, my husband is very depressed, he thinks that things will never be the same again after all of this, he said he wanted to reconciliate i said no, i want time, i want him to really want this, not just for DD, but i want him to want to be with me. He is still living with this parents.
My daughter is very emotional, she made a drawing the other day of her dad and her and showed it to me telling me that she really wants her dad to stay but he doesnt so she has to have this drawing. She was about to cry when she said this.
Yesterday she said that her daddy wants to be here but he cant because i wont let him, that she wants to sleep and night but cant and she is shattered with this all, again with her eyes filled with tears. I am hurting so badly, i feel so sad for her. I am still trying to be ok tho, i do have a bit of sadness about my failed marriage.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Hello everyone, good luck to all getting sweeps and everything else today.
I'm very pleased to be at 37 weeks today so technically full termConsidering Walnut has been trying to arrive from 28 weeks this is just brilliant.
Lots to do today, tummy getting bigger again so think it might not be too long with all this fluid building up..
Think I lost my plug last week - looked a bit like snot and came out over 3-4 days.
Mrs_B def. put your foot down!
With visiting, because little one is going straight into NICU we've told everyone that they can't visit (I think, due to infection etc. they limit visitors). Also, not being able to bring our baby home is going to be quite hard and we need time to get used to the situation before dealing with visitors. My mum was really upset she couldn't visit but understood when I explained to her we just don't know how we're going to be feeling!
