Morning all, gosh a lot of people seem to be overdue!

We're only telling close family about induction date as we want to stop all the texts coming in when we're a bit worried about things anyway.

I slept for 3 solid hours from 11 - 2 before getting up and was really pleases - then couldn't sleep for next hour and a half :( just got up though so feel rested.

About to read Tesco Baby magazine I signed up for which has vouchers and parking permit :)

    Blimey to library fines!!!

For those ladies feeling restless, I've been stuck indoors now for three weeks - going slowly out of my mind!!!!! I'm torn between wanting Walnut to pop out, but also knowing extra cooking is all good :)

Sorry to hear you've have an upset stomach, moneypenny. Not the most comfortable thing at the best of times and I know it's worse with baby in there.

Savage, that little one of yours sounds like it doesn't wanna play ball. I hope you can atill have the birth you want but don't be too disappointed if you don't. Baby probably has it's reasons for being stubborn x

No such luck getting comfy last night, moneypenny. Thanks for asking though :) been awake about 20 min... got up 3 times to pee during the night. Between that and the coughing and blowing my nose. Feel wrecked :( perhaps it's a sympathy hangover? Though OH seems fine :)

Grrr... no help at the library, they took my details and asked me to call tomorrow so I can talk to a member of staff. What's the point of having a 24/7 library if they do not have anyone there to actually help??

No real changes here, I thought my discharge today was slightly pinkish, but I cannot be sure and in any case that could happen days before labour.

Ugh. Sorry to do this but I feel the need to come on & have a rant. Every Xmas, myself & all my siblings still go back to my Dads house for Xmas dinner (my youngest sister is 4 so it's still very much a family Xmas) & the Grandparents come too. Last year was the first year my grandad was in a home so I drove the 100mile round trip to pick him up & my Dad did it to take him home although it was supposed to be my brother doing it.

This year, my brother has text me asking if I'm taking my grandad home. I will be 35wks pregnant on Xmas day & according to our last scan Bean was measuring 2wks in front. I currently struggle to drive 30 miles max so god knows how I'll be in 2 1/2 wks time after a long Xmas day with family doing a 100 mile round trip. More to the point, he hasn't bothered asking my other sister. And he's trying to guilt me into it saying Dad will have been cooking all day but that wasn't such a problem last year when he didn't have to drive. I've also said I don't want DH doing the drive because he has a grand total of 2 days off from 21st-2nd & what if I end up going into labour?

Am I really being a hormonal, unreasonable, pregnant woman or am I fair in feeling how I do?
  • mrs_B - You are being COMPLETELY reasonable! Why can't your brother or other sister do it? What will they be doing?

As a massive compromise, even if your Dad has to do it - could you help him with some of the prep for the cooking or help him with some of the dinner? I'm sure even if he has to cook dinner and do the drive he wouldn't mind for one year? If you and your Dad both took your turn last year, surely it would be the rest of the families turn? I also agree that your OH shouldn't have to do the drive in case you go into labour - what if the traffic is bad and you have a super fast delivery?

I would be 100% putting my foot down I'm afraid! Actually no, I'd be 100% putting my feet up and letting everyone else run around after me :D

    Lol at bouncing class!
I managed to get the fines removed, I called again later and spoke to a lady who said there was a glitch with 7-days loans, hence the issue. Got them refunded and renewed :)

I also think you should not drive for that long, nor your OH. I would help with the cooking and ask somebody else to go. Or even buy a train ticket for grandpa and get someone on each stop to get him there and pick him up. Do not let your brother talk you into guilt, only because you did it last year it does not mean you will do it forever, specially when there are other people in the family who could also do it and this year you are clearly not available. There are many things that could go wrong with regard to driving during Christmas time, as to also add the fact that you will be heavily pregnant and your OH (for what it seems) has not got paternity leave and can only take a couple of days off. Ask other members of the family, but I would not drive if I were you.

  • I don't think you're being unreasonable Mrs_B. If there was no-one else to drive him I would probably volunteer OH, but definitely think others should take a turn first.

Mrs_B, I wouldn't be driving if I were you. You had your turn last year and are now...1. Heavily pregnant, 2. Unable to drive that sort of distance, 3. Should not be driving with the weather (could be raining/icy/snowing)... amoung many others. It shouldn't fall to your OH either for the same reasons. Your brother shouldn't even be asking you to do so either.

No afternoon nap for me, moneypenny. Just got in. Have been out since 12. Gonna have food, watch xfactor and then bed as early as I can.
