Couldn't agree more, people are condemning the SA when we only have the OP's version of events, as always there are two sides to every story.
Um, does every vent, warning or praise, come to that, require witnesses or the accused to give evidence?
The OP gave her version of events, and we have no reason to suppose she's making it up.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
If its anything like the supermarket I work in then your constantly getting s**t from the managers because they think we all have 4 pairs of arms and the last thing you need is s**t from the customers. We get some lovely customers, but we also get some proper nasty customers that think that just because you work their they Can treat/ talk to you like your something scraped off the bottom of their shoe! I don't think it is unreasonable that the kiosk lady asked you to take your basket back! There not allowed to leave the till if they are the only ones on unless they lock all the cabinets etc and there is no room for baskets to be piling up behind! If you had a problem with it you should have used the correct checkout to make your purchase and gone to the kiosk for your lottery ticket after!0

Or find another store that cares about customersThe woman set out a clear requirement for you to use that paypoint. You can accept it and follow the requirement or reject it and find another paypoint. It is not for you to argue or question this.
Other local shops which rely on customers using baskets, don't seem to have this problem.Leaving the basket on the costumer side of the till could put costumers at risk.
It does if it wants to attract and retain customersThe store doesn't have to bend over sideways to make everything more convenient for you.
I have been known to walk out of shops in similar circumstances.
In my opinion, the OP showed considerable restraint and has my sympathy.

Having read the OP several times I have every reason to think she was upset and may have not been entirely fair and impartial.0 -

The OP on this thread:-

Of course it bloody is. If someone working in a supermarket talks like that to me I'll damn well argue and question it.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Not every complaint on MSE is justified and needs to be taken at face value.0
