I think that if there was a reason for your fall (wet floor, no signs etc) then you should certainly write to complain....but I wouldn't include all the information you gave us as, quite frankly, you appear to have been more than a little cheeky to the sales assistant and it is irrelevant to your injury. I work part time in a supermarket and am always surprised by just how rude some customers are. If you are annoyed about a policy (eg to return the basket), ask to speak to a manager, please don't take it out on a sales assistant as we don't make the rules.

However, it is obviously in their interests to hold Public Liability Insurance. You would be very hard put to find a large supermarket that does not hold P.L. Insurance I can assure you.
