Or could have done that0 -

I couldn't believe it! I had a big handbag, a bunch of flowers and 2 bags of shopping and she expected me to return the basket!
I said I don't really think it's appropriate for you to tell a customer that they have to return the basket, you don't at the other tills, to which she replied yes but I'm by myself here.
I have no idea why it was such a problem for her to put the basket behind the till to be returned later or on the floor (out of the way) in front of the kiosk.
The way she spoke to me was completely out of order and I eventually had to tell her that I didn't wish to stand here and argue I just wanted her to serve me so I can pay for my shopping and leave.
Then she said 'don't be angry that I've asked you to return your basket, in the most condescending manner she could manage, and again I had to request that she didn't argue or discuss it with mr and could she please just get on with serving me so I could leave.
...
The woman set out a clear requirement for you to use that paypoint. You can accept it and follow the requirement or reject it and find another paypoint. It is not for you to argue or question this.
It is a big no-no to leave a till unattended.
Leaving the basket on the costumer side of the till could put costumers at risk.
Leaving the basket on her side could put herself and other employes at risk.
The store doen't have to bend over sideways to make everything more conviniet for you.0 -
Think the OP's getting a bit of ahard time, she's not asking for the number of a no win no fee lawyer!
You should complain, despite working in a supermarket for possibly lousy wages and dealing with the often lousy public, there's no excuse for treating a customer so shabbily.
The basket probably had no impact on the fall, but may have impacted upon your ability to react efficiently and prevent injury.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
We only have the OP's word that the SA did treat her shabbily.gravitytolls wrote: »Think the OP's getting a bit of ahard time, she's not asking for the number of a no win no fee lawyer!

I'm struggling to grasp how abrupt someone could be when saying this:Regina.filangie wrote: »"yes but you will have to return your basket to the store entrance."
I think the OP then argued with the SA by saying this:Regina.filangie wrote: »I said I don't really think it's appropriate for you to tell a customer that they have to return the basket, you don't at the other tills,
The SA appeared to answer with a reasonable reason
It's not for the OP to understand a supermarket's policy on kiosk tills and the disposal of baskets.Regina.filangie wrote: »she replied yes but I'm by myself here.Regina.filangie wrote: »I have no idea why it was such a problem for her to put the basket behind the till to be returned later or on the floor (out of the way) in front of the kiosk.
I could believe by this time that the OP was pretty hacked off and would hear condescension in anything the SA said.Regina.filangie wrote: »The way she spoke to me was completely out of order Then she said 'don't be angry that I've asked you to return your basket, in the most condescending manner she could manage0 -
Taking out all the waffle I do think OP has a point, regardless of how she came to be on the floor she still slipped. If there was something on the floor and no sign then she has cause to complain.
As others have said OP I think you should probably send in a letter, just leave out the basket stuff and stick to the fact that you slipped on their floor.
My DS slipped on Sainsburys floor when he was about 8. We'd just come in from the car park, it was hammering with rain and the floor was incredibly wet and slippery. Entirely DS's fault really as he wasn't walking, but he landed in a heap by the CS desk.
CS were fab, she got to DS before I did she was like lightning! She sorted him out with a big bag of sweets and a choice of any of the magazines on the rack. DS was over the moon.0 -

Does he slip over every time you go to the supermarket, now?
