Going slightly off the topic of poor casting but I HATE when films change the plot of the book. I do expect some inconsistencies as it can't always be the way I imagined but My Sister's Keeper was AWFUL. I cannot believe how they butchered the ending!

Thanks. I might give them a go anyway in the vain hope there'll be a serial killer or 2 waiting in the wings:D

    CS

you would probably prefer the Matt Hilton ones then.
  • I agree with you MissKeith - haven't seen My Sister's Keeper but will give it a miss now having read and enjoyed the book. My pet irritations for changed endings - Captain Corelli's Mandolin and The Horse Whisperer. Both had major significant changes to the endings created by the authors

and didn't Nicolas Cage annoy you for the Captain Corelli role?

Love him to bits (mmm whoooah!) but he was woefully miscast for that.

There has never been a decent Heathcliffe, though.

Always thought Orson Welles would have been great

No, but Toby Stephens's Rochester was incredible. Perfect casting in every way.

Harlan Coben is often compared to Lee Child and I really like his books as well.

I nominate TC for Myron Bolitar :D.

Reacher should be ANYONE suggested on here (preferably a young Liam Neeson :o) but NOT TC.

OK, how about Angelina Jolie as Amelia Sachs in The Bone Collector (Jeffrey Deaver book). Denzil Washington was pretty spot on but please...... Amelia is exmodel, redhead, looks fragile......... Nicole Kidman. Jolie may be many things, but fragile she ain't :rotfl:.

Off to Amazon to look up some new authors :).

I didn't like the actress for Lyra in the golden compass, her accent was way way off. Also didn't like Nicole Kidman as Mrs coulter, just didn't fit. Also didn't like the way huge chunks of the story were chopped.

Also lord vetinari in going postal, though not sure who the actor was. Not how I imagined him at all!

I'm sure there will be more.
