The house is lovely, the area is nice, but it's on the main road, with a small garden.

The thing is there will be a lot more house for the money than if it was in a quieter location. There is always a compromise. I have watched too much Phil and kirstie;)

That's about right, there is a lot of house for the money.

I live on a main road and I chose to live on a main road on purpose.. may be a silly reason but I hate the winters that we have and couldn't bear the thought of having to try and drive off an estate/side road with snow/ice.

Living on a main road means that most of the time the road is cleared pretty much straight away and my journeys are less treacherous!

Anyway, the moral of the story:rotfl: there will be people who choose to live on a main roads rather than shy away from them!

Well not a lot to report really. No more viewings on our house, we put a verbal offer in on the country house but haven't heard back, Mrs QBW is having cold feet over it, mainly over the amount of work required. We went to view another one just round the corner, same price but all done, Mrs QBW really liked it I was less keen, anyway it's sold so that's that.

Money is really tight at the moment so no additional OPs. Payday on Wednesday. Work is a bit manic, the last week has flown by. Center Parcs a week on Monday, but got loads to do before then.

A lot of words to say not a lot!!!

Well we've agreed a price for the house in the country village (a bit more than we wanted to pay) and they've given us a month to sell. We've lowered the price of ours to give it the best chance. So we'll see!!!

Annual leave today, starting to look at primary schools for my boy and next week off too, center Parcs here we come.

  • Great news on getting an offer agreed on your dream home. Hopefully yours will sell soon. It sounds like a centre parcs break will be well deserved!

We are in the middle of cleaning and decluttering like mad- we get our pictures taken next Friday after deciding to try and sell.

Well nearly a month since I last posted, no news on the house sale, think we may change agents.

My gran passed away earlier in the month and even though she was 93 and very ill, it was still a bit rough.

Center Parcs was brill really enjoyed it and will be booking up for one last trip there before my lad goes to school.

Work is very busy, stressful with long hours but really enjoying it. My wife has a lot of work on too and is working most nights.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend :)

Have been analysing my annual mortgage statement a bit more and in a year I paid about 5.5k off the capital, but a whopping 7.5k in interest, 2k more (I know I'm a mathematical genius).

The thing is it would be a lot worse without the 900 I OPd, so one thing is for sure, on the next annual statement, the interest paid is going to be less than the capital

A year on and had this year's annual statement, pleased to say I haven't let myself down, more capital than interest paid this year, woo hoo!! £7k in interest, but £17k in capital :T
