QB Wolf's long and winding road

Thanks everyone the viewing went well they were very complimentary about the house, so we'll see.
Went to an engagement party last night in London and had a great night stayed in a lovely hotel in Camden and got a good deal. It's also our wedding anniversary so that was pretty good.
Going to see a house at four that hasn't gone on the market yet, found out about it through friends.Start Date 16/09/2015

Well the house we saw yesterday we absolutely love and they're willing to keep it off the market for a while, whilst we sell ours and they're not in a massive rush.
Not sure what to offer though, it was valued by the same company that did ours so think it's too high. It also means extending the mortgage from 175 to 220, we’d still pay the same per month because of better LTV, we’d also have to borrow off family.
It will seriously stretch us but it gets us out of town and into a country village with an extra bedroom, a big garden and views to die for. It'll be a slower pace of life and great for the kids.Start Date 16/09/2015

That sounds great, and a sound long term move. Can you work out what value you feel would be realistic going by sold prices in the area or is it hard to tell?Jan 2013-£140,231.65

Good luck QB. These types of decisions are never easy - the views would swing it for me.

Ooooh well exciting. I always think if you love it, go for it. If you end up paying a couple of grand more to secure it, over the long term its not that much.Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Had the feedback from the people that viewed our house, they loved it but didn't want to live on the main road and they're offering on somewhere else.... Trying really hard not to get too despondent about it.Start Date 16/09/2015

Sorry to hear that QB, at least they liked it though in principle. Have you got anyone else lined up?
When you have been viewing have you taken your kids or have you managed to arrange childcare?
We are going to look at something on Sunday hopefully and have managed to get care for an hour for them but I can see this might not be possible each time if we end up viewing quite a few places. I would really rather not take them (they are only 5/4/almost 2) but can see we might not have a choice sometimes which sort of fills me with horror at the thought.Jan 2013-£140,231.65

Hi Fothers we've done both, viewed with them and without, definitely easier without, but it hasn't been too bad with them in all honesty, ours are 1 and 4, sometimes you've got no choice.Start Date 16/09/2015

The mortgage company will give us the extra money (actually they'll lend us the money, would be nice if they'd give it us) for the new house.
This doesn’t sit that well with a mfw somehow and I feel very down today with the lack of progress on our sale
I might make a small op later to cheer myself up.Start Date 16/09/2015
