Ok I am curious to know am I the only one who has not read and has no intention of reading these books ? !
Today in WH smiths 4 people in the space of 5 mins came in looking for the 2nd part. Everyone at work is talking about it and the library has a waiting list of about 70 people.
I have heard that its pretty racy. With that in mind why do people suddenly find it not embarassing to go and ask for this book?!

I started reading book one, but stopped. Poorly written I thought. x0

and we will never, ever return.0 -
I'm not reading it, because it's not racy enough for me!
Based on some excerpts that I have seen, it's poorly written. Anyway, I barely managed to read the drivel that was the Twilight* series, I'm not stooping to the Twilight fanfic...
*OK, that was a guilty pleasure! Looking forward to the last film instalmentCogito, ergo sum.0 -

since Ann summers became a highstreet shop, buying a smutty book doesnt seem embarrassing anymore!0 -
I am more shocked that anyone is paying WH Smiths outrageous prices than the number of people buying it.
I was in there the other day and someone was buying just the first one and it was £8!

Can someone pleaes explain to to me what this "Twilight fanfic" might be? I"ve heard of Twilight and believe that it's some dodgy American TV series but where does this "fanfic" business come in and what is its purpose?
As to this Fifty Shades cobblers: I believe that soft-!!!!!! written by and for women has been available for some time, so what's so special about it?0 -
I looked on Amazon at the Kindle editions of Fifty shades , it lets you read a few pages , it seemed very poorly written to me so I shan't bother..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
