What the hell happened to the OP!?

For what it is worth, I actually agree with razorbladekisses, as I have experienced this as I'm sure many others have too. It's not about thanks really, just manners. I know it's not worth worrying about, but still there it is.

It shouldn't be about flames, BB, and I'm rather sorry that RBK is getting such a rough ride over this as she spends a lot of time helping others, but it's a matter of tradition and practicality.

Traditionally it is certainly not the case that every response to an OP gets thanked or acknowledged, so I don't think anyone can fathom why RBK has suddenly decided to highlight this one instance amongst many, many, thousands on this forum alone. I don't see how she can claim to have been specifically 'blanked' when what she experienced is actually the most common response to posts.

As to practicality, a lot of threads get many responses to the OP and I can't see it would work if each one were to be acknowledged.

Having said that, I know that it can be a little bit of a damper if you spend 20 mins carefully researching and typing in a reply only to have it apparantly ignored - particularly when it directly answers the posted question, but that is the way things are, I fear.

    Worth a try.

Even if it doesn't warrant a sticky of its own, it might be an idea to have a thread with various "Follow this procedure" posts on it.

Ok, I PM'd her with the original link. Hope I did it justice and didn't just join a list of 1,000,000 people who already PM'd her lol
