Because, presumably, if this other woman saw this guy picking you both up then she can't have been gone long before you got there.

I had no reason to be watching my friends husband like you said so I never noticed anything, all I know is what happened today.

Right before you tell your best friend the horrible truth you need to drop the bombshell on the work-colleague that this man cannot be her fiance until he gets a divorce. From his currently very pregnant wife.

Then that's a good way of slipping it in to conversation with your friend. Assuming she's a close friend who you'd talk about such things to. "Oh, I felt so embarrassed when your husband saw me buying x." Might then get her questioning him on what he was doing in there.

I could not of stood there and said nothing while my friend has no clue that she is being disrespected in this way.

Why did you just allow them to go off together? Without your friend or employee knowing the truth. That is not fair to any body.

Not a situation you caused I realise that but I could not have played along with it. I hope you come clean to your friend as soon as possible.

to be fair I think if I found myself in that situation I would be so shocked I wouldn't have known what to do or think so probably wouldn't have said anything at the time.

I really don't envy you OP you have been put in such a horrible situation but you know in your heart of hearts that you need to tell not just your best friend but your co worker too, and the sooner the better tbh.

Ditto! OP probably panicked, couldn't think on what to say, and went along with the hubby's convo.

Your friend is the first person you should tell. Worker can wait but def needs to be told too. Have you any idea if your friend suspects anything suss about her hubby or would it be a complete shock?
