OP you really need to tell your friend – she is your best friend and will eventually find out that you knew and that will hurt her even more.

I would also tell your work colleague about him

So did he meet woman B at this Christmas party when he was dropping his wife off? Or has it been going on longer than that? Not that it makes much difference - am just trying to get my head round it.

Your best friend would be your priority. I know if it was me I'd want to be told. And preferably by a friend and not on the grapevine.

And the guy needs shot :D

How can your workmate have been trying for a baby for a long time when she only met him at Christmas? - 6 months is not a long time...

Put yourself in your best friend's shoes - you would want to know, wouldn't you? You should tell her.

I would also feel the need to tell your colleague too. She will surely find out sooner or later and will also wonder why you didn't say anything to her.

This "lovely" chap must be quaking in his boots right now, knowing that you know. I wonder if he will try to contact you on the sly - "please don't tell..."

As far as I know when he came to pick us both up that is when she met him.

I don't know the full story as I said she works for me and I try not to dip into my workers personal business unless they are talking right infront of me.

I think I have to tread careful as my best friend is due to have her baby within the next two weeks.

This whole business has given me an instant headache. :(

There is no good time for this sort of news, but it doesn't sound like a good time now with the birth so imminent. I don't envy you choosing your moment.

So she met him at Christmas and is already engaged and pg (and pg enough to have been telling people for months) and yet was trying for ages? That really doesn't add up.

Nor does how on earth he managed to pull whilst waiting in the car outside a party to collect his wife and her friend.
