What did the employee ask you?

If you said it was your bestfriends husband I can't see why she has not been on the phone to you asking 20million things by now.

Her initial reaction is understanable, her life as she planned it has been crushed.

"By law" a lot shouldn't happen but they do, and this has. She may not have an absolute right to lock him out of his own home but she has. And meanwhile he's no bed to sleep in and his clothes are in the front garden. I'd say that was fair enough under the circs regardess of what his legal "rights" might be.
He can just go sleep with the other woman?

She didn't have much to say accept swearing, telling me to mind my own business, she is going to report me to HR as her private life has nothing to do with me blah, blah, blah

And as I only know her on a business level there is no reason for her to ring me and ask me anything.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It could easily be argued that after the horrific way he has behaved toward his wife he deserves all this and more. He has humiliated and hurt her beyond anything I can imagine.

However by kicking him out with his worldly goods scattered over the garden, will only cause her harm long term. In a couple of weeks time these two go from being a couple to becoming parents. A whole new life will be dependant on the two of them. Whether this lady likes it or not, and who could blame her for hating the idea right now, she is going to be tied to this guy till at least when their child reaches adulthood.

I dont expect her to be accepting about any of this or that pleasant to him. The more amicable things can be between them though the better, both for her health and wellbeing now and in the future. Very, very easy for me to say, sat on my sofa happy and content with life not coping with all she is, but it is true.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Can you give me some more information on the legal side of this? The deeds to the house is only in my friends name as her father built the house for her on some land he bought and built 4 houses on.
As far as I know she has not put her husbands name on the deeds he just moved in with her when they first got together.

One thing ... if he was seeing this woman for so long, met her at a xmas party etc, how could he not know that she worked for the same company as you? Seriously? I just dont get that

The most I have said to him is hi and bye, like I said I don't have anything to do with this man and he and I have never been close or even had a conversation about where I work.
He may of worked it out at Christmas or he didn't realise I was the woman's manager as I work for a very large company.

I still cant believe this kind of thing happens in real life not just tv! Poor women and babies involved in this horrible mess. One thing I wondered though is if the "mistress" doesn't realise he is married where does she think he is sleeping every night?

You know what l think she already knew or suspected something, she's just been dropped a bombshell and she comes out with that? My job would be the last thing on my mind.

    Happy moneysaving all.

My dad had an affair with the manager of the shop I worked in. Not only that, but the shop he worked in was right next door, talk about cr*pping on your own doorstep. And even worse, she was/is only a couple of years older than me so I'd considered her a friend at the time! She was fully aware of who he was yet happily told me all about her secret new boyfriend, how they'd snuck upstairs when the shop was shut for sex, all sorts of gory details you share with a friend..but not generally while you're sat there knowing it's her (married) dad! She was pregnant within a couple of weeks of my mum finding out and kicking him out, and I later found out that he'd actually been trying to convince my mum to have another baby, while he was seeing this ex-friend of mine.
Goes to show, some people are so confident/cocky that they don't really care how close to the flame they're dancing.
