I am somewhat dismayed at the pleas for the op to hurry up with updates. Captivating and compelling reading though this is, its simply not our 'right' to know, even if we want to. Its people's lives, not our entertainment.

I am glad your friend has you OP. i hope the other woman is ok too. I think her reaction is pretty understandable.

You are right of course,:o it was just that having posted it seemed odd not to at least update the basics.

It's not our right to know, agreed, but yesterday the OP posted many times during the day, going into great detail about the situation. It's only natural that all of us would like to know what happened, having offered various advice. So far the response has been pretty vague, but maybe the OP is in the middle of something else right now.

that could have come from your best friend as well, its not an unheard of reaction to being told your fiance is already married and about to become a father to another child.

True, I told her to take some time of so she can gather her thoughts.

She asked me if I knew who the other woman was and when I told her yes she hit the roof, I was really concerned that she might do something silly so I told her she was to stay with me until the morning.

Does your friend realise, that the other woman has been messed around by her husband, almost as badly as she has been? That this isn't a woman who has started an affair with her husband, seeing as it is most likely your employee knew nothing about your friends existence, or any of that side to her fiancees life!

Is your friend aware now that her husband has lied to your employee too, pretended to be someone else, got her pregnant, proposed to her and got engaged to this woman? I understand that would be an almighty lot to take on board in one evening. However if she isn't informed of all of it then there is the potential that his web of lies and deceipt will continue!
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

At least now everybody, who needs to know, does know. I think you seem to have it all in hand and have managed to deal with it really well. Now all you can do is continue to support your friend while she deals with it and has her baby.

Hopefully your colleague will also be OK (and not get sucked into any lies her 'fiance' will spin).

Of course its natural to wonder, and to hope for more info, thats why i checked back. Sometimes its easy to forget its other peoples lives, and in this case someone else reporting secondhand on someone elses lives. Even though we are all intrigued, and read yesterday and today, op really can be as vague as she likes and imo does not deserve reproach for it.
