Yes I use it all the time too - no complaints from my lot. I use value everything - spread, flour, eggs. I also tend to use granulated sugar instead of caster, they don't notice the difference.0

do you think it would taste alright as buttercream?
I always buy butter for mine, but I am going to make the icecream cupcakes for the school fayre and don't want to spend a bomb on the buttercream swirls0 -
I find it fine for buttercream but i do add something like vanilla essence/ extract, or some orange zest/ juice. lemon juice to boost the flavour.0

I have tried and liked...
Tesco value...
(double concentrate) lemon squash/blackcurrant squash
all of the biscuits (especially gingernuts)
tins of curry sauce
jelly
lasagne sheets
yoghurts
crisps (ready salted and especially cheese and onion), although packets are much smaller, but work out to about 6p per bag
pantyliners
bars of soap
There are more but cannot remember them all, but the list is growing all of the time.0 -
Mr T's value instant custard is far nicer then Asdas. Have tried both Mr T,s tasted surprisingly good Asdas is really horrible which is a shame as have 4 packets left. [Grumpy grandad worked it out that they were more cost effective than Birds powder + milk, only took him half an hour studying at the shelf so as I wanted to get home that day I bought some.:rotfl:0
