Unfortunately, we're stuffed on all fronts:o

Our nearest Asda is 40 miles in either direction, & I'm sure our Messers T,M & S all charge more for their basics cuz we live in the "affluent south"

And because three of the four of us have sensitive skin, I have to be particularly careful with any cleaning/cleansing products:embarasse For example, citrus scents make me sneeze as do all air freshners, apart from the higher priced ones of course:wall: But we can use MrT Pure Soap for bathing & own brand toothpaste...not value but next best thing.

Tesco Value cleaning cloths are very good. 10 for 38p, but I cut them in half and they're still huge. Great for cleaning in the kitchen, bathroom, windows and other glass surfaces. Have also used them as dusters in the past!

i've recently tried tesco value spaghetti & lasagne sheets which were as good as brand equivalents. asda sell a 30p jar of sp casserole sauce very nice (tomato & red wine) and have bought their sp chilli sauce in jars to try - we will add our extra hot chilli powder as we perfer it spicy:D

gave the Ivys value pasta from Mr M yesterday. Asked them whether they liked the pasta. they said yes it was fine, a little harder than I normally do it, so that was good. They said well if it's a 1/3 of the price of normal then get it.

Tesco value chocolate mousse is nice.

couldn't agree more its really chocolatey tasting and 28p for 4 makes it a cheap dessert.

OK....we've tried MrT value loo roll & it was not a resounding success so I've got a packet from Lidl to try next, the 4ply I think I picked up.

But have to say that thumbs up go to MrT value:-
    • strawberry ice cream sauce...very, very good
    • ditto vanilla ice cream & so much so, is the first choice
    • chocolate [non-cooking]...very good for eating, cake-making & bashing into tiny chunks to go on top of the ice cream & sauce:drool:
    • rice cereal excellent in choccy crispie cakes
    • butter
    • medium & mature white cheddars
    • minced beef...dry-fried before using in bolognaise, pies etc
    • fresh chicken
    • packs of ham, chicken roll, but especially corned beef & the liver pate
    • midget gems.....mmmmmmmmmm:smileyhea toffees, mints, etc
    • choc digestives & rich tea...offspring luv'em :T
    • long grain rice & pasta
    • bacon rashers
    • sausages, esp for toad-in-the-hole
    • fresh pizza & add extra toppings before you cook them
    • sponge scourers..at that price you don't mind throwing them away when they're past their best, or cutting up to make your own decorative stamps for card-making etc with the children---cheaper than potatoes;)
I'm of the mind that, we'll try it, if we like it :j & if we don't, I'll go back to what we usually have. For example, we don't particularly like MrT luncheon meat but MrM's is very good, so I don't restrict myself to shops either. Given the chance, I'd experiment with MrA & MrS a lot more too.

Tescos cooking bacon pieces [near the rashers]. If you look closely and search through the packets there are always some that have nearly full rashers in. Great value at about 86p? a pack.
