Tesco had TV advertisements for:
"Value Bacon" - If you'll trim some fat off, we trim it off the price.
"value Potatoes" - Great for jackets
Isn't it amazing that they sell more and the price goes up?
I used value beacon from asda all the time, it has slightly more preservatives but tastes the same. This went from 59p to over a £1 in the matter of a month. The price of a bacon joint has not gone up too much.
It was reported that all super markets were building a larger value range due to the credit crunch, they also reported that the top of the ranage food is also doing better as people want to eat out but can't afford it. The people who loose out are the people in the middle.
I like the "Jaffa cake" on smart price. They last exactly the same time (1 minute)
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -

Ham and pepperoni large 12" pizza (chilled section 99p), this was enough for 6 slices. Not a lot of cheese on it but lots of ham and pepperoni. Lovely and cooks nicely too.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Tesco value dried packet custard is really nice and mixes really easily too.
We also use Tesco value ketchup and brown sauce at only 25p a bottle. It's a bit runnier than a more expensive sauce but then you don't have to wait forever to pour it out of the bottle!
In fact we use loads of value stuff but those are the ones that we particularly like!I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0 -
Tesco Value Crisps - multipack (can't remember how much they were as I bought them over a month ago:eek: but I am still eating them) I think there were 24bags in the value sack. Must admit though I hate prawn cocktail ones and wish they wouldnt include them.
The crisps are quite crisp and are not overly salty or greasy - tbh they are better than Walkers.0 -

We are loving the TV pesto, having tried and disliked any but Sacla in the paste. Not so keen on TV mayo though - even mixed with the pesto and some chopped veg and pasta for children's lunchboxes!0

Ooh yes! The MrT cat litter ! read somewhere--possibly on this glorious site--that you put a bit in the bottom of your peddle bin to prevent nasty niffs.
Now the weather's warmed up, I'm putting a handful into the bin bag too.
Can you tell we don't have a compost heap:pFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
