Has anybody tried Tesco Value unsweetened Soyadrink? Would you recommend it? Any feedback much appreciated.I have always bought Alpro.0

No idea - but I tried ASDA smartprice soya milk a couple of weeks ago and it went straight in the bin. Mind you - that was my very first taste of soya milk so it could just have been to do with 'my tastebuds and something new'. But it definitely put me off trying the stuff ever again.0

asda value, tinned tomatoes, sweetcorn and fruit and veg are quite good, the ones to avoid are things like the pasta sauces and baked beans and other processed foods aren't so good.0

My cupboard is a sea of red and white. I get Smartprice for most of my stuff. By this I mean beans, spagetti, soup, custard etc.
I will buy proper tins to tuna (John West), but usually wait till the multipacks are on offer (at the moment it is something like 8 or 10 tims for about £5 in Asda)
Having worked for Asda, I know that most of the stuff is the same as the branded stuff, just in different packaging, and there is also not much difference between all the supermarket brands, the same companies make for them all!
I generally go for the Asda brand or Smartprice for all of my shopping, I do prefer the Asda brand of squash, the dog loves the own brand food, though he does have SP cornflakes for breakfast.
And the big tin of Asda coffee at about 2 -3 £ is great value, though saying that, I also like drinking the SP coffee.
In fact, thinking about my shopping today, I would say that the only things we bought that were not SP or Asda were the Stork margarine and the Birds Eye Thai Chicken pieces (2 pieces for £1, and the kids love them), oh and the sugar, cos they don't do their own!0 -
Morrisons own brand Coconut conditioner is REALLY good for dry and damaged hair - costs 54p !! Also their coconut body lotion is lovely and smells divine.0

I have had this before and found it to be fine, if a little bit thiner than other brands, I only really use it in tea and on cereal thought, don't do a lot of cooking with it

I bought the Value low fat yogurts last week, but wouldn't get them again, they are ok, but taste pretty gloopy and synthetic...better to get whatever yogs are on offer or the 6 pack of red fruits for 98p (Tesco) are good..
I do buy the value choc mouses at around 38p for 4, they are delicious, we alll love them...have checked out the calories compared to lower fat brands as well and they compare well....Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

Value Jaffa Cakes are nicer than the branded ones and are dairy free.
Some things (e.g. tissues, bin bags) the value stuff is just _too_ cheap not to buy, even though they're not as good.
Others (e.g. tinned tomatoes) are no different in quality.
When money's tight I buy one value orange squash for every three or four own brand fruit and barley orange and mix them.
Value cartoned juice is fine (but then I don't like it when juice tastes too "real"!), though until recently own brand 4-packs were the same price as value.
Nothing wrong with value sausages (esp. thin ones) and chicken wings.0 -

It could just be your tastebuds not being used to it. When I started using soya milk it took about a week to get used to it. I can't stand anything with cow's milk in now! Also each brand of soya milk tastes different. Alpro has a very weird taste to it (although their puddings are really nice - the ones which come in a 4 pack and the ready made custard). Plus it curdles in hot drinks. I've only found two varieties of soya milk which behave in coffee and they are the Granose one in the red carton and the White Wave in a blue carton.0 -
