I bought smartprice curry sauce last week from Asda, 9p for a big jar. It wasn't too bad and it was mild enough for the little'un too.

Tesco value cheese is also perfectly fine, but I'd recommend the strong rather than the mild. Tesco value tortilla chips are delish also. Tesco value dilute apple and blackcurrant juice is lovely, according to my 13yo and value sugar-free lemonade is indiscernible from the other stuff.

Tesco Value tinned chopped tomatoes and tinned kidney beans are always a good buy, as are their porridge oats and chocolate chip cookies!

i second all the above.and also the baked beans, someone else mentioned they were a bit runny,we add a small knob of butter towards the end of cooking, thickens them up and adds to flavour.mmmm

I bought a jar of sainsburys basic peanut butter for 40odd pence. I thought it was delicious and will now never pay double the price for Sunpat.

    All Tesco

Value toilet brushes for 48p nice neat design, it includes a container for the brush, not just a brush on its own.

Non-slip bath mat for in the bath. About 98p - so far so good!

Value balsamic vinegar - not bad and only £1 for a big bottle. Not quite so good as the three times the price stuff, but not a huge difference.
