Don't buy value washing up liquid - shower gel - panty liners - shampoo and conditioner or loo roll.

All hideous and not worth the money - sometimes it is worth spending an extra 50p to get better quality.

I found all the above I just didn't use and so wated money. Oh and the washing powder is horrible aswell.

With regard to the loo roll, I don't know which value brand you tried, but I've tried Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda now. And Sainsburys is far nicer as it's softer and I don't shred the first 10 sheets trying to peel the first one off. The Asda one is the worst and I probably won't buy it again.

I'm actually surprised at the difference in some of the value products as I assumed they'd be the same. I also prefer Sainsburys noodles to the others. Sainsburys basics chocolate is better than Tescos version. Sainsburys chocolate mousse is far better than the Asda version. The Asda version didn;t have the mousse consistency at all.

Oh, and it's not value, but a recent thing we've tried are the own brand versions of mars, snickers, milky way and twix. The Nutty Nougats (92p for 8) are the best and are extremely good. The mars equivalent is not as good as it's a bit on the sweet side. The Milky way is called Whippy and although they taste nothing like milky ways they are still nice and I think you get 10 for 92p. The twixs are good too, but you only get 7 for 92p.

This is the most wonderful stuff - value bacon sarnies with brown sauce, value crisps and brown sauce sandwiches - lovely grub, just a couple of examples.

    I eat about a bottle a week - not bad at 27p!:D

I've tried tesco value shampoo & I must admit, I found it fine ! Tesco value loo roo is definitely better than Asda. Tesco value pancakes are nice too (only if you can't make them yourself !) ;) Tesco value jam, mixed fruit i think, wasn't nice. Value chocolate bars are ok when I'm skint but desperate & cant afford cadburys ! Value noodles are ok, but prefer to proper egg noodles & add my own seasoning to them.

Hi all, found great bargain today so decided to stock up, Asda own brand washing powder, 1kg size. Ocean Blast, Lavender and Cotton Flower, Bio and non Bio all on offer for a pound a box, hubby looked at me like I was deluded as I stacked loads of boxes up in the trolley. Should keep us going for months!!!!!!!

I have a European student staying with me at the moment and she loves choccy cereals for breakfast. I bought Kellogs coco pops and to try Tesco value coco snaps. The coco snaps are nicer and much cheaper.

Saturday, my DH bought value chocolate digestives - very good and 300g for 27p.
