It's not strictly 'value' butI was really impressed with Lidls' parmesan cheese. I got a massive block for just under £2.50 and it's really, really good0

OH actually prefers the Tesco value fruit jam (plums and apples I think) to other jam. But then again he doesn't like jam with whole bits of fruit in anywayworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Lidl is an=mazing for parmesan my OH won't have anyother. It's way cheaper than tesco as well.
Lidl car park is always full of mercs, BMW and other 'posh' cars where I live. They seem to be there to buy up the italian foods and the chablis which is only £4.99 and lovely. Chablis is quite expensive normally.
Tesco value custard creams are better than any others but do break up more easily. The tesco value chewey cereal bars (white choc and strawberry etc) are 85p for 6 and really really nice.0 -
I would say I pretty much go for value everything! There are some exceptions and that is cereal and rice. Not sure why, but there ya go!
I buy branded names when they are on offer, but that's about it. Oh, and I do prefer Lakelands chicken breasts to Teso's own, but again, I stock up when they are half price!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Lidl's basmati rice (the one in a purple-ish box!) is the best I have ever had!! It cooks perfectly and is lovely with curry, chilli etc!0

Sainsbury's Basics Curry Sauce is 8p - how they can make it, jar it and label it for that I don't know, but I've tried it and its really not bad at all. Tried it with a few veg for a veggie curry and great for sticking chips into!:p
Am now converted to Sainsburys facial tissues - box for 27p I think. Couldn't find any as cheap in Morrisons today, but I see there is another post on here with Tescos tissues for same sort of price and also in Asda with a slightly prettier box but my daughter reckons they are like sandpaper and prefers the sainsburys ones. Never will I pay a quid a box again! (except for those moisturising ones when we have really bad colds - they are definitely worth it to prevent red nose/sore nose syndrome). Asda thin bleach at 27p is also good as well as the toilet cleaner.
I've ended my hunt for recycled loo rolls. All the main supermarkets seem to do the really cheap ones (9 for a £1) and although they are either recycled or tree-friendly they tend to not be very thick - so you end up using three times as much. I've taken the advice of other mse's and have started using Nouvelle - found a pack of 4 in the 99p shop and they are much thicker. That's that search over.
Also flabbergasted (love that word) at Somerfield washing up liquid at 14p for a huge l litre bottle. Bit more watery than the usual Fairy but hey, 14p!!!!!!!!! Just bought another litre at Asda for 13p. Also just bought a litre of Asda bubble bath for 21p - kids can have bubbles to their hearts content (and leave mine alone!). Also today (15.1.08) just bought Asda Shower Gel 9p - reduced from 23p! Not tested it yet though I will use it as handwash soap if its too drying on my skin.
Like Wilko's sandwich bags - You get 50 bags for 10p of the smallest size which I use for sandwiches and lunchbox bits. (that's 50 for 10p!! - flabbergasted)
Morrison's frozen veg - good value and loads of choice, but obviously Asda is the cheapest.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Tesco value mayonnaise is (surprisingly) really nice and a bargain at 35p per jar. I also use Tesco value butter and have just bought some Tesco value pesto, so I'll let you know about that one when I've tried it.↑ Things I wouldn't say to your face

I buy Tesco Value or Sainsburys Economy EVERYTHING!
My DH is a real value snob and says he can tell the difference, if I hide the packaging he doen't even notice!
Have to agree about the rice crispies though they are rough, but the Branflakes and Coco pops are just the same
Also have value bread, loo roll, kitchen roll, washing powder, soap, shampoo,
biscuits,et.c well needs must!:rotfl:Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
