What Value things have you tried and liked?

Lidl's jams are fantastic. Not comparable at all with supermarket "value" jams.

To be honest you'd be hard pushed to find a better Jam in a supermarket at any price.

Tesco value tomato soup is just as nice as heinz, in my opinion. Tesco value peanut butter is miles nicer than any other i've tried.

I did notice that the Tesco value iceberg lettuce was onl yabout 5p cheaper than tesco's "normal" own brand and looked a lot smaller so was prob a false economy (if you usually get through the bigger one before it goes manky).

I used to buy value bags of peppers but got fed up of all the green ones!

just tried sainsburys own brand (not the basics range, or whatever it's called) wholenut choc -89p for 200g. lovely!

Can't quite bring myself to try the cheapo toilet roll. Stocked up on nouvelle a few months back when it was BOGOF, and my supply is still going strong. maybe i'll take the plunge when my current stock has ran out. Anyone know which is the best "value" one?

Asda's own mini pizza's are FAB so are there own angel delight(instant whips).

Tesco Value jaffa cakes are scrumptios 2!!!

I used Tesco Value tomatoes and was surprised at how good they are for the price - and you know how particular we Italians are! OK in a chilli. The real test will come when I use them to make a pasta sauce. Will report later.

Tesco value choc digestives -vs- sainsbury basic choc digestives....

Tesco biscuit is much nicer - Sainsbury's are too hard.
Sainsbury chocolate is nicer - more milky than Tesco.

So erm... personally Tesco wins but if the milk-chocolate bit is more important to you and you don't like slightly darker chocolate then go for Sainsbury.

A very stripey shop, I have ordered other items but they weren't available as Value so haven't listed them. The orange juice I use with frozen raspberries to make my own sorbet (fat free and 55 calories, need I say more?). Just can't believe how much you get for so little.

I haven't read though this entire thread but I am aiming too (work just keeps getting in the way).

My 2pence worth on this subject would be the tesco value box of assorted chocolates for 98p or 99p, can't remember which.

Bought some for a Friday night treat and they were lovely.

You might not want to give them as a gift in the box that they come in but nothing to say you can't put them into a handpainted jar or box for a cheap gift

Sorry haven't read all of this so sorry if I duplicate.LOVE the ASDA smart price mature cheddar cheese. Hate the Tesco value though. Steer clear of the ASDA grated Motserella though-it isn't its a cheese STYLE product YUCK!!

• value savoy cabbage (went in my galette!)
• value baking potatoes (just a bit smaller)

• value baking things like sultanas, currants etc
• value lasagne sheets (can't get brown though)

I wouldn't get again

• value carrots (went really rank after just 2 days)
• value soft citrus fruit (went mouldy after just 2 days)
