Lidl crisps (the Kettle type ones). Salt and balsmic vinegar. Be warned they are addictive.
Lidl lager, traditional lemonade, foil, vine ripened tomatoes, milk £1.07 for 2 litres, cheese. Their frozen chunky cod is good and their tinned peas (mushy and garden) carrots and also potatoes are good storecupboard items.
I love kettle style crisps...I love the M&S salt and vinegar ones too but at 50p a bag its a nogo at the mo. How much are the lidl ones? My nearest lidl is a bit of a trek, but i do intend to check it out sometime.0 -
Just remembered another couple. Tesco value red cheese not a good buy - no taste at all. Sainsbury's basics Camembert is okay though - not fantastic but quite a bit cheaper than others. Definitely worth going to Lidl for cheap good quality cheese though - I'm a big cheese fan and their cheese can match up with premium brands.0

Asda's Smart Price peanut butter is considerbaly less than SunPat and in my opinion is better. It has a great consistency (rich, moist, etc) and is packed with peanuts. Some other value versions I have found to be too dry but this is perfect !
I also buy Smart Price baked beans, tinned tomatoes, fish fingers, kitchen foil and washing up liquid. No complaints so far and it's great to see how much you can get in the trolley for such a small amount of money !0 -
I adore peanut butter, and I swaer by the tesco value one, but also the morrisons cheapie on is good as well. TBH I thought they were all the same- better than sunpat and less than half the price. Also its great for cooking withr ( eg satay) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
My Tesco doesn't do the value peanut butter but just got the mixed fruit jam (apple, strawberry, raspberry). 33p for a large jar and its fab! Lovely when used in the recipe from this site for jam doughnut muffins.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Thanks. Off to T's later and will try the jam as we've run out.
Will be getting the digestives and apple juice again too, and keeping an eye out for caramel wafers to try and anything else I can try switching to this month as MOT and tax are coming up.
Edit: forgot to say - value chocolate spread - OH and the kids like it and say it's very chocolatey - spreads easily (but I prefer choc-nut spread Nutella style).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
They do value marmalade too and its just as nice as the premium brands but I can't remember the price.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I bought a packet of facial cleansing wipes from aldi yesterday, for 79p very good, no stinging eyes or sore face which I tend to get from the more expensive "kind to the skin ones".Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

Let me know if the link doesn't work. I made 12 smaller muffins rather than the 6 they say.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
