Asda curry sauce at 19p a tin if fine on chips or to use in a curry in a hurry-with a tin of chickpeas.

Sprinkle a bit of talc in them-this will sort them out!

Trouble is they stick together on the outside - don't think talc will do the trick but thanks anyway!!

Ah Ive had that too. Only way to help prevent that is to rinse them in clean water when you have finished what you were doing and to dry them in a towel while still on your hands. This helps slow the breakdown of the rubber and the stickiness which is part of the breakdown process(I guess but I'm not good at science)

Great thread B-S, I like this idea, might try it myself.

So far I have tried and liked from the Value range:

    Tinned tomatoes: Absolutely fine
Teabags: These are pretty good but then I'm not the best judge as I believe there are only two kinds of tea - good and better :rotfl:
Coleslaw: I can't tell the difference between this and Finest
Mixed Peppers: Much cheaper, only difference is they are catchweight
Plain/SR Flour: - Again, absolutely fine for normal baking
    Iceberg Lettuce - No problems

    I really haven't liked:

Mild White Cheddar: Found this rubbery, tasteless and went mouldy after a very short time
Potatoes: Tasted fine but were really small and nigh on impossible to peel
Instant Hot Chocolate: A bit bland, you need about 5 teaspoons worth to make it taste of anything
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Not sure if it's been mentioned just yet? but the value anti bacterial hand wash at 41p for 500ml is brilliant value from Tesco, and excellent quality. The nearest equivalent is carex at £1.38 (ish) for only 250ml
I have to admit though that I decant it into old Carex bottles for the bathroom, none of the family have noticed the switch!!!

These may have been mentioned already on this long thread!

Sainsbury value chcolate caramel wafers, tomato sauce and salad cream. All heaps cheaper than the originals and seem fine taste-wise to me. In fact I think the chcolate caramel wafer biscuits are better!

I go to Morrison's to shop. I've really been happy with all the Morrison's own brand stuff that I've bought. Which has been pretty much everything. Very cheap too.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
