  • Tesco value corn snacks are as good as any - about 56p for a bag of 12, cheese puffs, onion rings and s & v sticks. small bags so ideal for picnics and packed lunches!

If you're going to Tesco today & looking to buy Chicken Breast's,I looked in the meat offers section (mine was next to the fruit & veg aisle) & got a pack for £3...On the Meat & Poulty chiller section, they have the EXACT same chicken on sale for £4!!...
  • Tesco Value Baby Wipes. Excellent for removing your makeup - nice and moist, I find the more expensive ones dry out too quickly. Use one to remove makeup, then re-use for a quick wipe round the bathroom, unless it's too gunky.

    Hi,

We have a large thread on value products:- What Value things have you tried and liked?

And a number of other similar threads:- value threads here on Old Style MoneySaving

Oopsie! Sorry Squeaky! I couldn't find them! :(

I did try a couple of searches and paged through a few but it seems to bring up ext within the posts rather than the thread title - although I'm quite new here so I may well be doing it wrong!

Maybe the mods could delete this and we could rekindle the older threads instead?

In the meantime..(and I will happily repost if they decide to delete this - I used to be a forum mod myself so tis fine with me)...I have had a pretty good time shopping wise today! Yaaaaay!!!

Been to Tesco, they didn't have any of the Tesco Value Baby Bath Foam so I've bought the Value Baby Shampoo to try as a start off - for 9p!
I also got some of the Value baby wipes (as were mentioned above) so happy to hear they're on the 'good things' list!
I got Value Salad cream - not quite as tangy (strong) as Heinz - but for 50p for 560G in a glass jar compared to a squeezy bottle of Heinz 460g for £2.09 or 2 x glass bottles which would be 570g for £2,38 I'm a bit chuffed with that!
I got a few other bits - value chopped toms, and kidney beans..splashed out on Dairylea cheese strings (bag of 8 BOGOF) and an Amoy sauce (treat!) for 99p...and when it all went through at £4.69 the cashier actually sat and read my receipt before she would give it to me! Haha!

I also went for a look in Poundstretcher and came accross a seagrass storage box which is the perfect size to sit on my dressing table and store make up and my little magnifying mirror in, the baby wipes pack will also fit in there fine as well - it cost £2.99 compared to the exact same thing in Robert Dyas for £4.99.

Oils..carrier oils..you mean for smelly stuff? What do you use those for then? Do share! :)

I have looked around today and cannot find better nor cheaper decant bottles so I will be ordering some of those today - I was inspired by the Ikea bottles someone had on this thread. Hope it goes to the right page if you post a linky..
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/512112 I think they look great!

Quick coffee and I'm off to the charity shops (per my usual Saturday afternoon)..I thought that being careful with cash was a tedious kind of thing - it isn't. I am thoroughly enjoying this! It is like winning the lottery - I could get addicted to this! :)

I think its refreshing to have a new thread started cos the other do seem rather long to trail though.

I think it is good to keep stuff on the same topic together but the one started by black saturn was started 4 years ago, which means that the actual products sold are likely to be different, even if supermarket still offers something by the same name and the price information is goign to be way out of date.

I would suggest a new thread every 6 months is about right.

On topic and off food, I noted that the Co-op sells very very value san-pro - about 25p for 12 towels (looked small) and a silly price for basic tampons. Any one tried them?

    Hi

No not essential oils, oils like Sweet Almond oil. I use it to make my own massage/body oils then add Lavender or Chamomile essential oil. Much cheaper than buying the ready made stuff.:)

  • We have just done a blind tasting today with spaghetti. Two of us had Buitoni (usually about £1.50 but half price in Morrisons) and the other two used up the remains of last weeks Morrisons value spaghetti at 20p for the same size pack. No complaints about either so I know which one we will be having in future!
