just to say I love the value instant custard, 6p I think. We make it with milk rather than water as stated on the packet. Lovely and creamy, we always get compliments on how nice it is.

I really like Waitrose value beans (35p a can) - they're actually nicer than Heinz

I've tried cheap beans before and don't like them. My favourite beans are Branston. I got two lots of a four pack in Tesco the other day on bogof, so 8 tins for £1.63 is just over 20p a can. I only ever buy them when they are on special offer.

Tesco value hair conditioner is pretty good. Doesn't get my hair quite as soft as expensive brands, but soft enough for the price difference! 47p today.

We tried the Tesco Value tortilla chips recently and they are great!! They really made our chilli and only 25p a bag compared to almost £2 for Doritos. Bargain! Plus they're on buy 2 get 1 free at the moment.

Iv just bought Lidels own brand washing liquid for clothes. Its brilliant and does thirty washes for 3.49. Even my daughter socks came up spotless. I never use as much as the bottle says so get more washes and it still worked.

I don't buy much value stuff, but did buy the choc digestives cos I don't care if they get eaten or not! :D And they are absolutely fine.

I buy cheapish / value kitchen roll too and that seems ok (i know many here don't use it at all but i can't seem to do without)

On another tack, we are currently using andrex loo roll as it was on offer and i don't think it's any better than the "bog" standard stuff.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I agree the andrex that is on offer isn't as good as you would expect for the price - but I got the quilted one when on offer and that is so much better and you need next to none for it. So I can justify that for us as it lasts longer than the value stuff in my house anyway :)

    Hello all,

I have found various superb snippets of info on useful products which cost far less on this site.

Tried to find a thread for reviews and I couldn't trace one so apologies (and please post up a link if you are aware of one)

I'm going to start trying more of these products and would like to know your views on them.

    I've recently bought:

Stardrops 99p: I could only find the surface spray but it seems to do all the things the original one does from what folk have said on here. I am a convert to it! :)

Tesco Value Washing up sponges: Pack of 5 for 16p - they last just as long as the more expensive ones - so far!

Poundstretcher Cosy Soft White Toilet Roll Pack of 18 for £2.99 or 2 packs of 18 for £5: Is just as good as Tesco Value in my view.

Tesco Value Chopped Tomatoes - about 30p: I use these in my slow cooker and oven baked cooking and see no difference to the more expensive brands

Tesco Value Kidney Beans - 16p: Same as the tomatoes, I can tell no difference - I have on occasion found 'other types of beans in the can though - still used them and they were fine.

What things do you use and have been converted to?
What do you find good and what would you never buy again?

I'm very tempted to try Tesco Value Baby Shampoo as a body wash as it's 9p for 500ml...wonder whether it would do the job or not though??

Your thoughts on any products would be appreciated. :)

Tesco's Value Biscuits are £1.26 a pack & you get Nice,Malts,Chocolate & Custard cream biscuits per pack, can't tell the difference between them & the brand names TBH.Also Sainsbury's frozen chicken portions, around £4 a pack & you get drum, leg, breast & thigh portions.Excellent for the BBQ or debone one for a curry ect.
I also drink Spar or CoOp basic cola for around 30p.I find 'proper' cola too syrupy for my taste & these are just right.I also buy Tesco's basic bog roll. Can't see the point in buying the expensive stuff cuz you have it in your hand for 30 seconds while you wipe your a*** then flush it away...
