As a Tea-aholic and 'big brands' tea drinker I would never have thought i would say this, but last week I was at my uncles house and had a cup of tea there and he only uses the basics Sainsburys tea bags....and i really enjoyed it, so i brought some the other day and we are enjoying it at our house now. It should save me a lot of money!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I did a 'taste test' of cornflakes recently. I love Kelloggs', and have memories of the awfulness of other brands. However, that has changed...
I bought some Kelloggs, some Tesco brand, and some Tesco value brand (I can't remember what they are called). The surprising this is that they are all almost the same! Kelloggs' are very slightly crisper, and very slightly stronger tasting, but nothing really noticeable.
I have now now happily moved over to the Tesco value branded cornflakes, because the difference is so tiny that it's not worth paying double money to get Kelloggs'.I have no signature.0 -

Have you tried the value baby lotion? it's a bit watery but smells nice. Mainly use it in the bathroom.
Where else would you use it.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Tescos value baby bath. Surprisngly good. I tend to go for own brand rather the value, as tends to be nicer. I use value kidney beans sometimes.
i use this in my hand soap pumps, much cheaper than a normal hand soap and no problems with my youngests exzema
we tried value peanut butter last week, oh acually woke me up to tell me he's tried it and it was just as nice as thats well known brand and was it much cheaper? :rotfl: peanut butter is usually a treat here (because he eats a whole jar in a week) but now we can have it more often
my kids love the wee cartons on pure orange so we get those for picnics, even tho i find them abit bitterDEC GC £463.67/£450

The Tesc0 value peanut butter is very nice. I don't normally like crunchy peanut butter, preferring smooth but I have become addicted to the Tesc0 Value peanut butter. I like the Wholefoods peanut best but it is too expensive. Sunpat is disgusting and too sweet & creamy for me.
The 9p pasta is very good.
A good bargain atm is the 50p bag of strong bread flour in Morrisons, which is 15p cheaper than Tesc0 and makes beautiful bread.Halifax CC £1029/£2490, Tesco CC [STRIKE]£0/£3203[/STRIKE], Tesco loan £15431/£15808, Carloan1 £6743/£8241, Carloan2[STRIKE] £0/£3813[/STRIKE]

One to avoid - Tesco value sweet pickle. Watery, tiny lumps of nothingness! The own brand is ok but this is about the only thing where I will stick to the brand - Branston or similar.0

i've had the value pickle before and altho i found it too lumpy for my taste i did like it (once i'd picked said huge lumps out),
i also buy the value mince and cooking bacon and find them greatDEC GC £463.67/£450

Has anyone tried the baby bath from Sainsbys please and is it any good? The sweet pickle from Morrys is runny too but tastes ok on a sarny.
From the Basics range we love
Fruit and Fibre
Museli
Oats
Dried Fruit
Instant Custard
Pineapple pieces--if they have any!
Rice Pudding
Grated Cheese, 500g for £1.85 brilliant for pizza and quiche
Sweet and Sour Sauce
Bought Pasta Sauce to try.
Fruit and veg.
We have had a few others but these are what we buy on a regular basis, we are always willing to try new lines.0 -
tesco value yorkshire puddings are lovely, little on the small side but you get 15 for abour 56p so can't complain, especially as they are so yummy:j:j:j0

I mostly live off Value Ranges, One value product I would recommend is a Value Hand Blender, usually less than £5, I'm not a fan of the Value Pasta Sauces but I get a Value tin of Chopped Tomatoes add some veg and blend into a lovely sauce. Or cook some veg and blend into soup.0
